This game is not made by Square Enix nor is the game play. The setting is if you consider a fantasy world with a RPG story. So weather or not you liking final fantasy has no real ties if you would like this game. I give it my recommendations none the less.

Its tough to answer this. Thou I've played both this game and Devil Survivor and love both of them. I never played final fantasy thou. Still. Why don't you enjoy Final Fantasy?

The game play is entirely different, and overall they don't feel very similar at all. Depends.
