Question from Lightning_Ace

Deleting and reinstalling?

The forum FAQ says that to get different exclusive pokemon, you can try reinstalling the app. If I do that, will the new app recognize the pokemon that I received before, or do I have to scan them all again?

Deleting the app and then reinstalling it, doesn't get you any new pokemon. I tried it two days ago after getting all possible pokemon without trading. You will just get pokemon (from zero onwards) when you delete the savedata.

No, the game don't "remember" the pokemon you have recieved before. If you delete the "Pokedex Extra Data" you lose any pokemon that's been added. You still have the pokemon that's come with the game though....

If you fully delete the data, delete not only the extra data, but also the application, you begin from scratch, with new default pokemon and another pokemon will be added.

You can get only one "monkey" (Pansage, Pansear, Panpour) and it's evolution, and also only one form of any pokemon witch have more than one form. (Deerling + Sawsbuck - Frillish + Jellycant and Unfezant).
The rest must be traded with friends to get them, the AR-markers does nothing in this case.

You don't need to delete the whole app, just the extra data on the sd card. In order to get pokes not previously obtained you need to use another sd card. Some exclusive pokemon have been released that you can get just by scanning the A/R. If you are trying to do the one 3DS trick to get all pokes without trading for them then the two sd cards are important. The whole trick is mentioned in the stickied faq here: The last post in that faq is mine and details the original trick from the originator of that topic.
