  • National Dex Number: What number this Pokémon has in the National Dex of the fifth generation games.
  • Pokémon Type: What is its type?
  • Potential Locations:
    • One place you can find it...
    • Another...
    • And so on. As possible, the locations are internally linked within this FAQ, so you can go there for further, more in-depth info such as floor-by-floor data. The dungeons themselves are based on approximate order of unlocking - the first will be the first accessible, second is second, and so on, leaving the various post-credits and DLC Dungeons for last. The Magnagate Dungeons are excluded because you can't recruit from any of them anyways.

Location Notes

The above list is a sample locations excerpt from Amoonguss's locations. Notice the two emboldened tags. The first, "(no recruitment allowed)", indicates that the Pokémon is there, but the dungeon is not known to support recruiting Pokémon. This is by the end of the game for when such things are stated - therefore, even though Ragged Mountain, for example, doesn't initially allow recruiting Pokémon, it does eventually, which is why it is not tagged as such. Uncharted Roads shouldn't be under the effects of such no-recruiting measures as far as I know, and this is accounted for where applicable.

The second tag, "(DLC Dungeon)", indicates that the Pokémon is in that dungeon and probably able to be recruited. However, this dungeon is also one of the DLC Dungeons, requiring you to actually download the dungeon. Some will be offered for free from time to time, or at least PokéForest at the time of writing, so be sure to check on that stuff frequently if you're not readily able to use a credit card or something like that. The highest cost for now is around $3.50, by the way.

EVOLUTION CHART

This will detail how to get the Pokémon's various evolutions and whether such exist or not.

Note on Evolutions

The one mechanic I will specifically point out regards evolution normally through Happiness in the mainstream games, or IQ in previous Mystery Dungeons - for these evolutions, marked as "Open up to team", you'll find that these usually work out by leveling up after a Team Attack.

Quick-Jump

To try and keep the Table of Contents at the top of this FAQ more compact, I decided to create a section - this section - which will link to the Pokémon data below in the The Whole List section without adding to the main Table of Contents. Basically, just click on the Pokémon's name from the below list and you should yourself there. There are six columns total, with all totalling 25 Pokémon. (That makes 150 overall.) The Pokémon are arranged alphabetically going down, then looping that to the top of the next column.

Kecleon

  • National Dex Number: #352
  • Pokémon Type: Normal (but it will change to the type of move it is attacked with thanks to its Color Change ability)
  • Potential Locations:
    • A random find in dungeons in their shops, most prolifically in the Kecleon's Bazaar dungeon, but he can be found in any dungeon. You cannot even fight this Pokémon until you steal from it - this can be readily done by picking up an item and trying to leave, but refusing to pay. Kecleon are very powerful fiends and will come en masse after pilfering from them; they take minimal damage and deal it out in larger quantities, easily enough to make one think they're Level 90+ - add this to the fact that they like to supplement their Agility move with their allies' Agility and you're pretty much dead.
    • Kecleon is not able to be recruited by any known means. At least, a Premier Gift and a Normal Gift failed for me multiple times...
