Introduction

Hi, I am writing this guide because, unlike many other Zelda game, this game requires you to have a specific item to defeat certain bosses, so it is possible to find yourself in the middle of a boss fight and unable to beat it. The purpose of this guide is not only to stop this from happening, but also to help you defeat any boss you may be having difficulties with. In this guide I will also cover what I call the "mini-boss" in each dungeon. The mini-boss is the enemy or enemies that are fought in order to activate the midway portal that can be found in each dungeon.  In each part of this section I will cover some basic guidelines about basic boss strategy and also the basics on how to read my guide, and how to contact me if you have any questions.

Email and Contact Me

If you want to contact me, please email me at wetcodebreaker1234@aol.comand make the subject of your message something along the lines of "Boss guide Question" or even "Question" but please put SOMETHING in the subject line. For the purpose of the FAQ section at the end of this guide, I will post the first five questions that I am asked via email and I will post any other frequently asked questions, or any questions that I like on my guide.  If there is anything that is incorrect in this guide, and there may well be as I am nowhere near perfect, PLEASE email me so I can fix it. I will place your name in the credits section, or your email, if you help make this guide any better. I will not place your information in the guide if you ask me not to.

How to Read my Guide

This guide will be separated into sections based off each dungeon that it covers. For each dungeon there will be two sections, first the mini-boss then the actual boss itself. For both the mini-boss and the boss the first thing that will appear is either boss or mini-boss's name, followed by the bosses difficulty rating from 1-10, ten being the hardest one being the easiest. Next will be a list of all the items that are required to defeat the boss, and below that is another list of items that aren't required to beat the boss, but are extremely helpful. Finally at the bottom will be what is received for defeating the boss. An example of this system is below

Eastern Palace

Miniboss- 4 Armos

Difficulty- 1

Items Needed- none

Items Recommended- Bow

Strategy-

As soon as you step on the switch in the middle of the room, the four Armos statues at each corner of the room will come to life. Charge a spin attack a let it go as soon as all four of them are in range. Then quickly strike each statue as quickly as possible. One strike will take them out after the spin attack.

Reward-Portal to start of dungeon

Boss- Yuga

Difficulty- 2

Items Needed-Bow

Items Recommended- none

Strategy-

As soon as the battle begins, Yuga will merge into the wall and start moving around. Follow his motions but stay on the other side of the hole, so as soon as he comes out of the wall shoot an arrow at him, which will temporarily stun him. Run up and slash him with your sword as many times as you can. He will then merge back into the wall causing you to repeat this process. After a few times he will turn red and begin to move faster, but the strategy will remain the same. After one or two patterns once he turns red the battle will be over

Reward- Heart Container and ability to merge into walls

The Boss Guide

Here marks the beginning of the guide, once again I hope it is useful

Miniboss- 4 Armos

Difficulty- 1

Items Needed- none

Items Recommended- Bow

Strategy-

Miniboss-Stalfos

Difficulty-3

Items Needed-None

Items Recommended- Bow, Fire Rod, Hammer

Strategy- These enemies are rather annoying, as they jump around the room when you try to strike them with the sword. In order to beat them, you can just get near one and swipe the sword many times in rapid succession, and hope that you land a hit. Also you can use the hammer to stun the Stalfos, and get some easy hits in. The fire rod or the bow can also be used to damage them, as they can't dodge it as easily.

Reward- Portal to start of dungeon

Boss- Moldorm

Difficulty- 1

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

This is literally the easiest boss in the entire game. All that you have to do to beat this boss is attack his tail to damage him. After a few hit he will turn red and move faster. Two more hits should take him down for good. The only thing that is dangerous about this boss is that he can knock you off the boss platform, so be careful of where you are standing on the boss platform.

Reward- Pendent of Power, Heart Container

Miniboss- Heedles

Difficulties- 4

Items Needed- Tornado Rod or Bow

Items Recommended- Ice Rod

Strategy-

This Miniboss actually consists of two enemies, each one extremely powerful. They don't take too many hits to bring them down, but to make things even harder they're on fire. You must first use the tornado rod or ice rod to put their fire out, and then hit them with the sword as many times as you can before they light up. Be warned however that they will spit fire at you, and when they walk they leave a trail of fire that can deal damage to you if you step on it. They both can deal tremendous damage so be careful. You must beat both of them in order to complete this fight.

Reward- Portal to start of dungeon

Boss- Margomill

Difficulty- 4

Items Needed- Tornado Rod, Bombs

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

When this battle first begins, the boss looks like a giant eye on top of a tower, so get close to him and use the tornado rod to not only stun the boss, but get on top of him as well. Once on top, attack his eye as rapidly as you can with the sword. After doing this once, the boss will knock you off of him and stack a few layers of stone on top of his eye, so you can't damage him. To get rid of the layers, you must throw bombs at the base of the boss's tower. Every two bombs will knock off a layer, until he is back to just an exposed eye. Once this happens, use the tornado rod once again to get on top of him and attack the exposed eye. The boss will then knock you off, get more layers and lead to the process being repeated again. Each time, it gets a little harder to remove all the bosses' layers, as he attacks by blowing wind at you in an attempt to damage you. Repeat the damage process a few times and the boss will turn red, and become much faster, but not much else changes. After a few more times the boss will be defeated.

Reward- Pendent of Wisdom, Heart Container

Boss- Yuga 2

Difficulty- 5

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- (Nice) Bow, (Nice) Fire Rod

Strategy-

As soon as the fight begins, Yuga will split into three copies and each copy will merge into a wall in a different part of the room. Each copy will launch a strong spell at you, and you must attack the real Yuga to stun and damage him. If you attack a copy then it will transform into a solder and the other two copies will attack you. In order to determine which Yuga is real, you can do one of two things. The real Yuga will have a glowing staff while the fakes will not, that is the simplest way to find the real Yuga. Another way is to stand at in one of the corners of the room, and when the Yugas come out of the wall to attack, use either the fire rod or the bow to damage one of them, then run up to and strike another with the sword. With this method you have a 2/3 chance to hit the real Yuga. Be warned that even if you hit the real Yuga, the other copies will still attack you so be careful. After he is weakened he will turn red and move faster his attacks will come more often, but otherwise nothing will change. Damage him a few more times to finish him off for good.

Reward- Access to the kingdom of Lorule

Miniboss-Eyegores

Difficulty-3

Items Needed-None

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

As soon as you enter the room, it will be pitch black, walk forward and you will see five eyes in the darkness. Charge a spin attack and let it loose when the eyes get close to you. The eyes will then close again. Wait for them to open again and repeat the process in order to defeat all of the enemies.

Reward- Portal to start of dungeon

Boss- Stalblind

Difficulty- 2

Items Needed- Ravio's Bracelet

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

This battle takes place in two phases. In the first phase, approach the boss and attack him with the sword until he places his shield in your way. Use the bracelet to merge into the shield. Stalblind will the place the shield behind him, so leave the shield and attack his back until he once again puts the shield in your way. Be careful of his attacks when trying to merge with the shield though.  Repeat this a few times and he will wise up and throw the shield away, beginning phase two of the fight. Now you can simply attack the boss up front, but still be careful of his sword attacks and his new spin attack. After you damage him some more he will turn red and his head will come off and spit fire all around the room. Continue to attack his body until the battle is over.

Reward-Heart Container and Osfala Sage Painting

Desert Palace

 ====Miniboss- Devalants====

Difficulty-2

Items Needed-Sand Rod

Items Recommended- Fire Rod

Strategy-

In order to beat the enemies, simply wait for them to appear on the surface and then use the sand rod to make them come out of the sand and lye upside-down on the surface. One series of sword attacks will defeat one enemy. Repeat the process on all enemies to finish the fight

Reward-Portal to start of Dungeon

Boss- Zaganaga

Difficulty-3

Items Needed-Sand Rod

Items Recommended-Nice Sand Rod

Strategy-

This boss is also rather easy, in order to damage him simply use the sand rod to make a platform allowing you to get close enough to damage the boss when he surfaces. He will leave a sand trail behind him so you can see where he will come out of the sand. Occasionally he will release airborne enemies which can hurt you, but one hit from the sword should take them out. After damaging him for a while the top of his flower will open, revealing many tentacles. They can deal damage to you and knock you into the quicksand around the room. Damage the boss a little more and he will be defeated.

Reward-Sage Irene and Heart Container

Miniboss- Gigabari

Difficulty-2

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- Fire Rod

Strategy-

This is an extremely easy Miniboss; basically it's a giant version of the strange electric jellyfish that you've seen all throughout the dungeon. To beat him you can simply wait until he is no longer electric and then strike him as many times as possible with the sword until he splits into twenty small jellyfish. They only take one sword hit to take them out, but be careful as they become electrified at different times. If you have the fire rod then you can use that just a few times to make him split, and then it can be used to take out many small jellyfish at once.

Boss- Arrghus

Difficulty- 4

Items Needed- Hookshot

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

This boss will take place in two stages, for the first stage he will be surrounded by floating eyeballs. Use the Hookshot to remove these eyeballs, and then attack each eyeball twice to destroy them. Once all of the eyeballs are gone the second phase of the fight will begin. The boss will fly up in the air in an attempt to crush you, and then after a few times it will stay on the ground and fire an extremely powerful beam at you. You can damage it when it tries to crush you and misses, and while it is firing the beam. After doing this a few times it will turn red and begin to move faster. Just repeat the process a few more times and then the boss will be finished.

Reward-Sage Orin and Heart Container

Miniboss- Goriyas

Difficulty- 2

Items Needed- Bow

Items Recommended- Fire Rod

Strategy-

Once you enter the Miniboss room you will notice a few red and green above you. They will move in the same way that you do, use this to your advantage to get them to fall through the holes and be on your level. The green ones can be defeated with the sword, but the red ones can only be beaten with the bow, or the fire rod. Another option is to use the fire rod under them before they drop down to damage them.

Reward-Portal back to start of dungeon

Boss- Gemesaur King

Difficulty-6

Items Needed-Bombs, Lantern

Items Recommended- Nice Bombs, Nice Fire Rod

Strategy-

There are two stages in this battle; the first stage begins as soon as you enter the boss room. As soon as you enter use the lantern to light the two lanterns at the northwest and southeast corners of the room. Once they're both lit the boss will appear. The boss will be wearing a rupee covered mask which stops him from taking damage, so it must be destroyed. To damage the mask, use the bomb near the boss, and it will make cracks in the mask. Every time a crack is made some rupees will come off the mask. After exploding a few bombs on the mask, it will break completely, dropping a large amount of rupees that you can collect. This marks the start of the second phase. The boss will blow out all of the lights in the room and start dashing around, covered in a black fog. While the lights are out, the boss can't be damaged, and deals massive damage. You must relight the two lanterns in the room to be able to hurt the boss. Simply attack his face with the sword where the mask once was. After damaging the boss a few times the lights will go out again. After repeating this a few times the boss will near defeat and begin to flash red, and move faster. But simply continue with the pattern that you've been using after the mask was broken to finish him off.

Reward- Sage Gulley and Heart Container

Miniboss-Big Pengator & Pengators

Difficulty- 2

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- Great Spin Attack

Strategy-

All that you have to do to beat the small penguins is hit them twice with the sword, the big ones are similar, but they take more hits to take out. Take the small ones first and then focus your attacks on the big penguin. The great spin attack can be used to deal massive damage.

Reward- Portal back to start of dungeon

Boss- Dharkstare

Difficulty- 7

Items Needed- Fire Rod

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

At the start of the battle, the boss will be in the center of the room encased in ice. Use the fire rod to melt the ice surrounding the boss while evading its attacks. It attacks by using spheres of light that can damage you and can also launch a beam attack at you. After melting all the ice, the bosses' true form is revealed and you can attack it with the sword. After attacking it for a while, it will return to the center of the room and will be recovered in ice. Repeat this process until the boss changes color, after this happens its attacks will become faster, the beam attacks will occur more frequently and there will be more orbs each time the attack is used. Keep using the same pattern as before and the boss will be defeated quickly. Be careful while walking around the arena as the floor is covered in ice.

Reward- Sage Rosso and Heart Container

Miniboss- Fire Gimos

Difficulty- 2

Items Needed-Ice Rod

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

To beat these guys, simply freeze them using the ice rod and then attack them with the sword until they break. They may re-ignite, in which case use the ice rod again.

Reward-

Boss- Grinexx

Difficulty-8

Items Needed- Ice Rod

Items Recommended-None

Strategy-

As soon as the fight begins, the boss will be in the lava below the arena, and will spit fire from his back to damage you. To hurt him use the ice rod when he is below one of the holes in the floor to freeze him. Continue doing this and avoiding his volcano attack until he jumps up onto the arena. This is the beginning of the second phase, for this part of the fight, avoid his powerful explosion and fire attacks while attacking his head with the sword until he begins to move more erratically. This means that he is near defeat so continue attacking until he is beaten.

Reward-Heart Container and Sage Impa

Miniboss- Gibdos & Mini-Moldorms

Difficulty- 4

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- Fire Rod

Strategy-

These guys are relatively easy to beat, but first take out the mini Moldorms that are around the room. After they're beaten you can focus your attention on the mummies that are in the room. You have one of two choices to beat them. You could just attack them with the sword which would eventually lead to their end, but you could also use the fire rod on them. This will transform the mummy into a regular old Stalfos.

Reward- Portal back to start of dungeon

Boss- Knucklemaster

Difficulty-8

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

This boss is rather simple to beat, but even though the method is simple, the actually fight is extremely difficult. For the first phase of the battle the boss will approach you, charge up with orange energy and charge at you. In order to stun the boss, simply merge with the nearest wall and the Knucklemaster will run right into the wall and be stunned, with his eye exposed. Attack his eye as many times as possible and then he will get back up and charge at you again. Continue this process until the boss begins to fly up into the and slam down on you. This is difficult to avoid, in order to do so you must run toward the pinky of the boss; this will ultimately allow you to avoid getting hit. This gets exponentially more challenging as time progresses because each time he attacks the floor under the boss will be destroyed. This makes it harder to avoid the crush attack as there will be less room to run. Another solution to this is to merge into the wall to avoid the attack, but it quickly drains your stamina gauge. After trying in vain to crush you a few times, the boss will once again use the charge attack, so merge back into the wall and the boss will be stunned. After doing this a few times, the boss will turn and begin to move faster, but otherwise nothing will change. Continue this process until the boss is defeated.

Reward- Sage Seres and Heart Container

Miniboss- Fire Ball and Chain Soldier

Difficulty- 5

Items Needed-None

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

This Miniboss is the same as any normal Ball and Chain solder, only this one is in a dark room and his weapon is the only source of light. Defeat him by simply attacking him with the sword.

Reward- ¼ access to the final boss

(In this dungeon, there are three other minibosses that are already covered in this guide. These bosses are Arrghus, Moldorm and Gigabari

Boss- Yuga Ganon

Difficulty-6

Items Needed- None

Items Recommended- None

Strategy-

For the first phase of this fight, the only thing you need to do is strike the final boss with the sword. Be careful; as his attacks will come at you rather quickly so be careful. He will attack by throwing the trident at you and using it almost as a swipe attack. He will also warp around the room and when he begins to lose his health, he will begin to launch energy balls from the sky, so be sure to avoid this attack as it deals massive damage. After dealing enough damage, a cutscene will play and the second phase of the fight will begin.

In this second phase, the boss will begin by launching a sphere of energy at you, beginning a game of dead man's volley. After you win, try to attack the boss and then he will retreat into the wall as a painting. If he doesn't do these on the first try continue attacking him until he does. Once he becomes a painting, a cutscene will begin in which you receive the bow of light. Now merge into the wall as well and hit him with the bow of light. Now he will leave the wall and throw more attacks at you. Wait until you can start another game of dead man's volley and then he will go back into the wall. This time the boss will run right at you when you fire an arrow at him, fire an arrow at him, leave the wall as he runs at you, and then re-enter and hit him in the back. Repeat the process until he is a painting for a third time. This time he will block all of your frontal attacks, so what you must do is fire an arrow at him, then immediately turn around and fire an arrow in the other direction, it will go all the way around the wall and strike him in the back, ending the fight.

Reward- The end of the game, Hero Mode
