Final Boss #1 Build

Use a range of Ninja, Dark Knight, Red Mage and Performer moves and abilities to beat Airy, without taking a single point of damage.

BUILD: 4x Ninja/Dark Knight

Abilities: Turn Tables, BP Recovery, Charm Immunity (at the minimum), you can choose anything for the last 2 slots.

Equipment: 2 Falcon Knives, Courage Ring, Brave Suit, hat of your choice.

Usage: On the first turn, use Utusemi and Absorb Magic. This is why you need Brave Suits to have an extra 1 BP. Whenever Utusemi is used up, use it again the next turn. For each turn that Airy is in positive BP, you'll want to use Absorb Magic as one of your actions. Whenever Airy uses Slaughter, you have a free turn to attack. Whenever Airy uses Acedia, you gain 2 extra BP, so the next turn you can use 2 more attacks (in addition to Absorb Magic). Minus Strike is the fastest method, especially since you can use Dark Bane or Black Bane to sacrifice your HP. Because Airy's AI can be exploited in this way, you shouldn't take asingle point of damage as long as you are fast enough. MP management is not an issue due to Absorb Magic.

FinalDivergence (prevents you from selecting anything but Default or Friend Summon), Disaster (magic based damage)

True Final Boss Strategy No. 1

A strategy to defeat all 5 phases of the true final boss Ouroboros with no knockouts or friend summons.

BUILD: Salve-Master/White Mage, Dark Knight/Ninja, Ninja/Merchant, Performer/Freelancer

Abilities: Salve-Maker: Holy One, Default Guard, Attack Item Amp, Speed 10% Up. Dark Knight: Natural Talent, Knuckle Lore, P. Atk 20% Up, Default Guard. Ninja: Turn Tables, Default Guard, Speed 20% Up, Speed 10% Up. Performer: Buff Up, Default Guard, Slow World.

Equipment: The Ninja needs an accessory or hat that prevents instant death. They should have 2 Falcon Knives to boost speed. They also should have a Brave Suit to make setting up easier. The Salve-Maker needs high MND, although they should have an agility boost with the Falcon Knife or Hermes Shoes. The Dark Knight doesn't need any equipment but should have a Blood Blade ready to equip. The Performer should have decent armour.

Usage: The key here is to keep up Low Leverage, as this holds the team together. The Salve-Maker provides healing and can use items to attack if necessary. They can also use the item Dark Bane (Insect Antenna+Dark Matter) to cause a dark weakness, followed by Shadowflare (Demon Tail+Dragon Fang). The Dark Knight's main job is to use Rage after applying drain magic through using the Blood Blade as an item (make sure to unequip it in the same turn for maximum damage). The Performer uses My Hero + Mimic to provide a continous source of BP to the team. The Ninja redirects attacks and can also support using BP Drink if you have the money, which you should at this point. Due to Slow World, the boss loses 1 BP every two turns, leaving it open for damage.

Phase 1: The main things to watch out for are Minus Strike and other physical attacks. Easily solved by using Utsusemi and using Kairai to redirect it to the Ninja.

Phase 2: Nothing real dangerous here. Use Utsusemi and Kairai to dodge the attacks.

Phase 3: Demonic Touch can affect your BP control. Utsusemi can help avoiding it. Use Kairai to redirect Zero Dimension to someone with immunity to instant death.

Phase 4: This is where you need to be careful. Keep Low Leverage up at all times, otherwise Armegeddon may wipe your party out. Dispel Celestial Touch as soon as it occurs. Otherwise, continue with dealing damage as it comes. Default can cut down the damage from Armegeddon, as well as Hedge Risk.

Phase 5: You need to redirect Divergence at your performer, as they are the least important party member in this battle. They can usually pull of My Hero on the first turn. Use Low Leverage to cut damage from Disaster. Use Giant's Draft (Beast Liver + Dragon Fang) to boost HP. Deal damage with Rage and Shadowflare. Use BP Drink to manage BP.

Additional Notes

When Satan has more than 0 BP, he will use Battle Blade I, II, III, IV, progressing once for each extra BP.

Strategy

The best way to deal with the boss is to have three key roles: one to support and keep up Fairy Ward (usually a Spiritmaster), a BP battery (and a BP remover), best done by a performer with the freelancer secondary, and a damage dealer that ignores physical defense, uses items or uses magic. It is also advisable to bring along a merchant for Low Leverage and BP Drink. A Dark Knight with high HP is usually good. The attackers should have the highest speeds, while the Performer should be slower than the boss. The performer should have 2 staves to charge up the Rejuvenation special, triggered by My Hero. Slow World is advised to prevent the boss from gaining too much BP.

The idea to to keep up Fairy Ward and Low Leverage, and also apply other useful effects such as Reraise. The damage dealer needs to keep dealing damage when possible. It is important that the Performer uses My Hero + Mimic or Rejuvenation to keep up the BP, and at the end of each damage dealing turn, they use Zero Sum to drop the boss's BP to 0 to prevent the sequence of Battle Blades from starting. Stillness can be used in an emergency, but be aware that Zero Sum won't work during Stillness, and the boss has Slow and Steady which may make it outspeed your team next turn.

Status Ailments

BUILD: Arcanist/Black Mage, Performer/Freelancer, Spiritmaster/White Mage, Any

Abilities/Equipment: Arcanist needs Status Ailment Amp and abilities to increase their M. Atk. They need equipment to maximise their M. Atk.

Usage: The Performer needs to boost the M. Atk (and Speed if required) of the party. The Spiritmaster heals and uses Fairy's Aid on the Arcanist. Initially, the Arcanist needs to use Sleep on the boss. This has a higher chance of working the higher your M. Atk is. The Arcanist then cycles between Firaga, Blizzaga and Thundaga. For example, if the boss is weak to Water, use Blizzage, followed by Thundaga then Firaga. Reapply Sleep when needed. Use the Performer or other member of your party to increase BP. If Sleep fails and the spheres are summoned, destroy them first before continuing. Use Poison to speed the battle up.
