Please note that this FAQ will ONLY FOCUS ON ARMOR KING and no other
characters. I would be adding some information about the other
characters but not much information would be focused on them.

1 more thing: This FAQ is based on the Arcade version of
Tekken 5: DR. I would also submit my other arcade faqs to the PSP ver.

NOTE: THIS PART IS THE AUTHOR'S OWN WORK

Tekken 5 is the original version of the hit 2005 arcade fighting game
from NAMCO. It's on the PS2 (with special arcade style controller)
and Arcade. It features original characters from the earlier Tekken
series like the Mishimas Kazuya and Heihachi, the new JACK model, Nina
Williams, Paul Phoenix, Yoshimitsu, Kuma and Marshal Law. It also
returns some characters like Ganryu, Roger(Jr.), Bruce Irvin,
Anna Williams, Wang Jinrei from Tekken 2. Jin Kazama,
Bryan Fury, Julia Chang and many more. More importantly
it includes new characters like the Ninja Raven, the
Kenpo Killing Machine Feng and the "new" Jun, Azuka Kazama. And it
also revives the "original" Jin(from tekken 3) as "Devil Jin." Tekken 5
has a new story wherein you would fight the founder of the Mishima
Zaibatsu, Jinpachi Mishima, father of Heihachi. Also, Tekken 5 brings
a new face to the Tekken Series by adding a data card. This card
enables you to have a win-loss record, rankings, and one of the best
features... fight money(G) and character cuztomization.

Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection features the same concept of Tekken 5
but with the theme "RESURRECTION", it has "resurrected" some characters
like Armor King, Eddy Gordo and the original DEVIL moves for Devil Jin.
It has more cuztomizations for the characters and it has made the
color purchasing at a flat rate - 10,000G only. It has more rankings
than before (5th dan to 7th dan and more ranks). Has some
improvements on the graphics and sound. New moves for the Tekken 5
characters. It added borders to the ranking plate. And 2 new characters,
Lili and Dragunov.

After the conclusion of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, 
an intense battle between father and son, Kazuya and Jin, 
took place at Honmaru in the Mishima Zaibatsu headquarters. 
Jin emerged as the victor and Heihachi turned his back on Kazuya.

"What a pathetic wretch... Worthless coward!"

The battle between Heihachi and Jin began. Filled with anger, 
his black wings spread, Jin defeated Heihachi. Just as Heihachi 
thought he was doomed, Jin regained control of himself.

"You have my mother, Jun Kazama, to thank for your life." 
Jin said as he took flight.

The sounds of battle gave way to silence as Heihachi lay spread 
out on the ground. The silence was soon interrupted by 
approaching aircraft.
The roar of the aircraft increased and the sound of 
something being ejected was heard. A group of Jacks 
crashed through the ceiling. At first, Heihachi 
suspected that Kazuya was responsible for the intrusion 
but realized that Kazuya was just as bewildered by the sudden attack.

"Why are you here?" yells Heihachi as the wave of Jacks approaches. 
Heihachi and Kazuya battle waves of Jacks but reinforcements 
appear as fast as the Jacks are destroyed.

Heihachi starts to lose his breath. Kazuya betrays Heihachi, 
throwing him into the middle of the army of Jacks, and uses 
the opportunity to escape from Honmaru. 
Shortly after, Honmaru is devastated by a huge explosion.

Close by, the battle is watched by a man dressed in black. 
He raises his hand to his ear and speaks into his radio.

"Heihachi Mishima is dead..."

At that moment, a Jack attacks from behind but it cut 
in half instantly as the man disappears.

Honmaru is completely destroyed, a raging inferno in it's place. 
A pile of debris was blown apart as something emerged from the
earth, unseen.

The next day, news of Heihachi Mishima's death spread rapidly across 
the globe. Most people believed that Heihachi's death would 
bring about the end of the Mishima Zaibatsu, but behind the scenes 
someone else had taken control, and business went on as usual.

A month later, it was announced that the Mishima Zaibatsu will hold the 
King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.

Why Did I choose AK? Well, once upon a time in an Arcade not so far away...
I played Tekken 5 DR and saw AK? "Oh COOL!" I said. So I played as AK for
some practice. Then a whole gang of Tekken players challenged me. One by
one they fall... so... This is a calling...

1) I beat the default records for "Greatest Survivors" (7)
2) I beat a whole batch of challengers (9)
3) I beat another batch (9 again)
4) AK looks cool
5) AK is new

Let's break it down...

I.                   T h e                  M o v e s

Armor King is strong, very good at poking and his specialty, Wrestling(or
Grappling as you may call it), why bother looking for huge damaging juggles
if you can just poke and grapple your way to the top? Sounds cheap? YES IT
IS!! Don't take it negatively! AK is one the most annoying move-set 
characters in the game. Don't worry, AK has great juggles as well. But 
the bad thing about AK's moves is there are very few set-up 
moves(I only found like 2). And his 10 hit combo is soooo bad, 
it delays in the 5th to end hits, the only saving grace is if you do hit 
all 10 is that the last hit is unblockable. Also, few lifters too, so your
AK juggling is all about timing a lifter. ;p good luck with that

II.                L O O K S     A N D     S T Y L E

AK looks more intimidating than King, King's wrestling outfit(cos.1) is
lame... he looks like an ordinary wrestler. AK though, looks like a
champion(cos.2), great costume designs, ARMOR(hehe [cos.1]), a has the
many things you would want to see in the King cos. Has great equips. And if
you should ask who he could look like, I would say Siegfried from the Soul
Calibur series. The only bad thing is though are that the equips are kinda
expensive, but yet, stylish!

If after reading this you say:

"So... You have AK, who looks just like King, why should I get him if I
would be buying a King look-alike? Would I be spending G for equips to 
make him look like King? What's the difference in Looks?"

If you're like the newbie Tekken player who'd ask the same dumb questions
then don't get AK as your carded character! And exit this FAQ now! And
come back when you have proof of AK looking exactly like King(if you do, 
e-mail me... the youtube.com video of King in AK mask dosen't count, I want
AK looking like King not the other way around!)

 simply challenge carded people and work your way higher
intimidation begins at 3rd-4th Dan so picking on people will just drive
 players away
losing will always be a problem once they pile up
demotions are the worst things you should have so always avoid them by
 winning

The mysterious masked wrestler, Armor king.

With iron armor and a black jaguar mask he is a wrestler 
shrouded in mystery. His identity and intentions are unknown.

Maybe NAMCO was saving AK's return for Tekken 6. But thank God they put
him in DR. I think they were too lazy to think of AK's return or they just
accidentaly put him in DR.

My own explaination(I got it from reading some posts from Tekken sites):
===========================================================================
OK so in Tekken 2, AK was already dying. In Tekken 3(after King won a
championship) he went to his locker room for some reason, maybe it was the
scene of Tekken 2. Tekken Tag has no connection whatsoever to the story of
AK but maybe has something with the Mishimas. At the beggining of Tekken 4,
Armor King was killed in a match by Marduk "accidentally"(dosen't seem like
it was to me..) and King avenged his "death." Then at the beggining of
Tekken 5, Marduk pissed off King by wearing an Armor King mask and fought
with it, challenging him wearing the mask. King was so pissed off that they
had a rematch at Tekken 5. Then at DR, AK just "resurrected." ....

During the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, Armor King was faced with Marduk
who you should beat. Then, Armor King was faced with Jinpachi, who you
should defeat. After Jinpachi does his weird explosion tornado thingy
wherein he becomes a huge gust of dust, Armor King leaves the battle area.
He then saw King. Who says "Master?! Master is that you?!" in the weird
Lion language. When King ran after Armor King, Armor King gave him a
Delayed Vertical Suplex, then converted it into a Steiner Screwdriver (or
in Wrestling, a "Piledriver") driving his head to the rocks of Final Stage
2. All I could conclude is that, AK has a grudge with King now, not Marduk
who "killed" him.

In conclusion... the AK of DR may not be the AK previous Tekken players
know from Tekken 2, some say it's just King in a costume to avenge the
disgrace of his master.(which seems impossible because of the ending movie)
Others say it's still Marduk in a mask.(which also seems impossible
because of the PSP cutscene) Others say that AK was accidentally put in 
DR so he has a corrupted story... He's Leaner, Meaner, and has the most
corrupt story in the Tekken series to date!

Who knows?

Only NAMCO can explain in Tekken 6. Can't wait!

using d+1,4 will be very helpful in your desperate times
useful when:
a) being poked
b) when you are poking

this is considered the AK parry or counter stance(AK dosen't have a real 1)

after the mid hit which is the knee, do: d/b,D/B+1+2 for big damage

WR moves
choose between WR+3(Jump Kick) or WR+2+4(Cross Jaguar Bomb or Shining 
Wizard) use when you have big distance.

when fighting "smart" people:
use WR+3 instead of the SW because they can counter with a crouch
WR+3 hit mid so they still get hit, time it well.

when fighting "not so smart" people:
always attempt for a SW

when fighting "unfortunately not very smart" people:
always attempt for a SW, sometimes, you can even get a CJB

moves like iSW are very hard to master, but indeed very very helpfull in
times of need. Consider the wins a reward for mastering i moves.

i moves:
instant Shining Wizard - f,f,f+2+4
use in a distance much like match starting distance.
useful when:
a) all the time
b) when opponent falls down and tech rolls

this isn't too tough to master. Once you get a hang of it, it's very
rewarding. It takes away alot of HP and gives you running distance for
a SW or WR+3.

big swing = f, hcf+1
usefull when:
a) you need distance
b) when your poking

MD should be used after 3-4 hits max. It has no reach, unfortunately.

Q. Will there be a PSP ver?
A. Yes, but I have to but it first so I'm still stuck with the arcade

Q. How can I master iSW?! It's so hard!
A. I cannot assist you here. But just a few reminders that the last f isn't
   F and it's together with 2+4, be aware of your distance and inputting.
   I too am having quite a hard time doing the iSW but consider your new
   strategy a reward.

Q. How do I know the distance between fighters?
A. Estimate it... all I can give you about stages are some have walls and
   some are infinity, some are shaped some aren't.

Q. How can I parry using AK?
A. I don't think you can. Use d+1,4 as a parry/counter, it's quick and
   counters well, use it to stop poking.
