Mouse Trap
Review by EJM
"Mouse Trap is just a cheap Pac-Man rip off."
This is an old game that's a complete rip-off. It was released when Pac-Man was the hottest thing in arcades, and it's basically a poor man's version of it.
Gameplay-7
The gameplay is fun, but it's ripped off from Pac-Man, like every other thing in this game. Pieces of cheese replace the power pellets. You're the mouse, and when you get a cheese piece, you turn into a dog, and can now eat the cats, replacing the ghosts. The object is the same as Pac-Man, clear the board completely. There's only one major thing that's different about this game: the board. It's not the same, and it can be changed by pressing against one of the different colored parts of the walls. This can be helpful if you're being chased, changing the strategy a little bit.
Graphics-4
Not very good, but then how many Atari 2600 games were? It has your basic one color background, and characters with two frames of animation.
Sound-5
I can't honestly remember the music, if it had any, but I remember the sound effects, and they weren't anything special. Just simple sounds to tell you that you've picked up the cheese and dots.
Extras-2
There are really no extras to speak of, other than the board changing mentioned above.
Overall-3
It's just a cheap Pac-Man clone, and not worth your time.
