Review by The CKYskater

"Not the best version of Dig Dug that I have ever played."

I have played other versions of Dig Dug before and I enjoyed them much more than I did this one. While reading this review, you will find out.

Gameplay: 9/10
You dig through the ground and enemies approach you. To destroy the enemie you must hold down the button for shooting at them and you hold it down for a couple of seconds and the enemy blows up. My major gripe for this version of Dig Dug is that it take much longer for the enemy to blow up than in the other versions, which makes the enemies get to you easier. In the later levels it makes this very hard.

Story: 4/10
Atari games don't reallu have great stories, and neither does this Atari title. It's hard to interpret to the story in Atari games as there are no cut scenes. The story is something like you are a farmer or gardener or something of that sort and you are trying to get rid of the creatures in your yard.

Controls: 8/10
The controls are good but not as good as in the other versions. It takes too long for the enemies to blow up for some reason, and this problem isn't really in the other versions.

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are kind of boring but average for an Atari 7800 game. The are pixelated (of course) but are pretty colorful, so that's good. Average graphics at best for this game.

Sound: 6/10
Annoying but at least it has music. Some Atari games I played didn't have music so this gets a higher score than those in the music section. It's just a little annoying, but nothing to stop you from playing this awesome game.

Difficulty: 6/10
It gets harder in the later levels, but isn't too hard. The only thing that makes it a little difficult is it takes a while for the enemies to explode.

Replay Value: 8/10
This game is a really fun game to just pick up and play. it is one of my all time favorite games and you can play it any time you want without getting bored.

Rent and/or Buy: Buy
Buy, if you can find it, which I doubt you will.

Overall (Not an average!!): 8/10
Not as good as some other versions of Dig Dug, but very good anyways. The only major flaw is that it takes longer to blow up your enemies than in the other versions for different consoles.

The Final Results:
Gameplay: 9/10
Story: 4/10
Controls: 8/10
Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 6/10
Difficulty: 6/10
Replay Value: 8/10
Rent and/or Buy: Buy
Overall (Not an average!!): 8/10
