How come users can't have spaces in their names?

One single space is all I want :(

I'm sure one of the admins/master moderators here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the whole space debarcle came out of the GameFAQs/GameSpot board merge a few years ago. I know we've split since but the rule seems to have stayed.

Of course, this is a perfect opportunity to brag that I have two spaces in my name. More spaces in my name than the admins put together ;)

IIRC you're right, CNet was moving with the Universal Account system across all of their sites including GameSpot, MP3.com, etc. and when GameFAQs joined the party we had to adopt their username policies.

Regardless, single-word username master race checking in. =)

I agree with Ladyvant.
