What's the rules for talking about past gen games on current gen console boards?

I was wanting to know if it was ok to do this if the console supports the games such as discussing Wii games on the Wii U board or PS1 games on the PS2 board.

Discuss it on the console it released on.

Would discussing a game's compatibility on the current gen system be ok though? Say for example "Does Xenoblade work on the Wii U without any Problems?"

Yes, that would be perfectly fine.

Additionally, games available virtually for download on the new console are fine. For example, if Madden 2004 came out for PS2 in 2003 and is available for download on PS3 via the PS Store, it's on topic on the PS2 and PS3 boards.

So would I get away with discussing purchases on the Wii store on the Wii U board (this was the topic I was wanting to make). As you can access the Wii Store on the Wii U. I think that might be slightly different to your example mind you though Mike.
