piracy. AHGGGG!

ok. i'm playing on "hard" for the first time, and i'm doing GREAT (no less than 5 planets on my 20th turn, thank you splinter colony!) but when i get to turn 100 or so, my planets start *****ing about piracy. i read a guide that said to make a beam base and then poof, piracy in that solar system goes away, but nope. even on the planets that have beam AND fighter they still revolt and break off from my empire over "piracy".
so my quesiton to you is this; how the **** do i get them to stop complaining about piracy?

on the side, another game i played they were doing the same thing, revolting and such, over 'leader effect'. wtf?? thanks!

The only way I found to effectively deal with pirates is to station some system ships. My advice is to design some cheap frigates with a few weapons. That way a new colony can build them without having to upgrade its shipyard. Once you have a system ship for each planet in the system, they will not complain about piracy anymore.

The "leader effect" is from the special leaders that occasionally show up to help govern. Some of them have negative unrest effects. You may have to fire them if you have a lot of unrest in your society.

aight. thanks a lot! once i figure out how to get moo running again (direct x stops working when i go to save or load screen. crap.) i'll do that.
