[Well, it might as well have.]
But in a good way. :)
But really, anyone else have that problem? You absolutely MUST go over every square inch of a level at least twice so you don't have to go back to it again to 5 it? Every time my score isn't divisible by 500 at the end of a level, I immediately turn back and scour the whole thing again to find what I might have missed.
And don't get me started on the health. @_@ I'm on here right now typing this, knowing that I need to quit the game, just to avoid losing my hard-earned 7 health bars and full powerups. But alas, the Wii must be switched off...
My brother accidentally erased my perfect save file back when we played this on the N64. I dove back in and made a new save file, promptly 5-ing every level, one at a time. Even now, over a decade later, I still have most of the levels and surprises memorized.
And I still love it so much.
Hero is the lesser of the 64 Bomberman games in my opinion, but scarily enough, it's holding up quite well. :) Here's hoping they get Bomberman 64 and Second Mission onto the Virtual Console, too. I've been longing for that great multiplayer mode that only ever made it into one Bomberman game... (unless it was in the sequel, too. I never got the chance to play that one) And 64 is, IMHO, the best Bomberman games ever made, and my #1 favorite N64 game.
Well, maybe if enough people buy Hero on Virtual Console, Nintendo might bring back Bomberman 64 for the newer generation to enjoy. :)
Hmmm, I thought Bomberman 64 was on the VC. Guess it isn't, and Hero(for now) is the only one available so far.
np: Bomberman Hero(N64), Alpha Protocol(PS3), N+(DS), Tourist Trophy(PS2), Contra Advance(GBA)
