This game wasn't too bad, really.

It's been a while, but I believe the Santas were the Golems typically found in Draak's lair (29-31 or whatever)

A whole forum devoted to Darkstone:http://www.rpgplanet.com/darkstone/

Another site:http://www.thanatosrealms.com/darkstone/

The Thanatos site was, at one time, talking about a collaborative effort at creating a Darkstone 2.0, but I can't seem to find that link now.

And my new computers (laptop: AMD X2 dual-core 1.8 GHz with Vista home Premium; desktop: AMD Phenom Quad 1.8 GHz with Vista Home Premium 64-bit) won't run it! Well, it will run, but it skips around, mostly through dialogue (and the entire opening cutscene!). I don't know how it does in battlesince I didn't feel like leapfrogging through the whole intro bit. How sad! I've carried my Darkstone install disk around with me for nearly 10 years now, lovingly re-installing it on each new machine I get. Now I've had to pass it on to a friend. Is it possible for a machine to be just too fast to play a game? Or is there something I can do to my computers to make them play the game properly? Which in that case would mean stealing it back from my friend. . .

I have played this game twice and I only have one question. What do you do with the potions of Immortality?

#97Zizka417Posted 4/7/2009 10:43:13 PM

I just purchased a copy of this game for the PC, set compatibility on Vista to Windows 2000, and the opening and main screen work just fine. However, when I go to create a character, and then name it, I have no idea how to select. How do I confirm the name of my character and create it?

I doubt thought that this message will see the light of day. It's fricking April. I'm probably screwed.

^ But it's not April's Fool anymore.

IIRC, there was a red arrow-like button that you should click. I dunno, I haven't played the game in like seven or eight years?

If the button doesn't work or is not there, did you try pressing [Enter]?

"I have played this game twice and I only have one question. What do you do with the potions of Immortality?"

If you meant Potions of Youth, then decrease your age.

As for Potions of Immortality, they're part of a quest. You may check the FAQs here on GameFAQs and Ctrl+F the string "Potion of Immortality." However, I'll put the relevant text here for your convenience.

Langolin
------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll find a little house where a wife and a wizard are standing. Talk
to Langolin to find out he is trying to save the woman's husband or
something like that. Yadda yadda yadda. Anyways whatever you do DON'T
give him the crystal of wisdom. He is really that spectre guy again.
Go in the dungeon and find the fountain of youth. Kill all the spectres
and click on it. You get a potion of youth and a potion of immortality.
You can drink the potion of youth yourself to make you one year younger
if your growing old. Go down to the next two levels and do the same
thing to find the potions. Go down to the last level and find Langolin.
Talk to him and he will reveal himself. Kill him and any of his
goonies. Use the crystal of wisdom to get the other crystal.
Congrats:)
