Beat it, not including the post game stuff, with an average level of 55 in 68 hours.
I did it way faster than I had expected to, and I even talked to all the NPCs and didn't particularly rush.
I did make Hero and Gabo learn Sword Dance and then have them master Dragoon and start on Paladin before leaving Dharma though. Oh, and I got Maribel Hustle, mastered Teen Idol, then made her a sage, also before leaving Dharma.
Surprisingly that grind took maybe 6-8 hours, and then I flew through most combat sequences at pretty much light speed. I didn't even bother working on Melvin's jobs until Disc 2 Krage.
As this was my second time through I didn't feel like having that uphill grind in every new area, so I guess I kind cheaped it out. xD
Nevertheless, this really is my favorite JRPG. Replaying it after a few years showed me how much of it I forgot too. I remembered everything up to Hamelia, but everything between that part and Coastal was somehow deleted from my memory.
Guess it's time for the post game. --- Neutral but not impartial.
Actually making PC's godhands ASAP can be done IF you have access to the job at level 15 (grind on Mt Cede until PC's hit level 17 and move on).
Hence by the time I fought battles outside Dharma at level 23 to 24 while I didn't have access to the Godhand job yet I did master the Paladin Job and Vacuum with Paladin at level 2 is all you need to end all those random battles for job grinding (after learning Whistle) to end them in 1 turn.
After I had access to the jobs it took me 10 hours to have all 3 with Ultra Hit (godhand mastered) and yes it was well worth the 10 hours to kill bosses like Gracos onwards in 1 turn.
