Are classes / skills actually essential? Or can I just grind to like level 45?

I don't know if this is a dumb question, but I hate trying to level classes in RPGs. I mainly play for the stories.

So is this like all the other DQ games where I can just get to around level 45 and beat the game fairly easily? Or do I need to have specific skills?

Sorry if this was answered somewhere. I see lots of class topics but nobody has really said if a player can just grind instead of build a bunch of different classes.

In this game, you can do both, and, aside from doing a challenge game, there's no reason not to use classes.

That said, there are no specific classes or skills required at any point in the game, so you're absolutely free to do whatever you want with your characters. Don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.

k, cool. I know in DQ6 I largely ignored classes and got through the game fine by getting to level 45.

Do both and in DQ6 DS version around level 45 to 60 depending on party members I already had 6 to 8x hero's all mastered and did all that grinding as soon as job classes unlock since as soon as jobs unlock in DQ6 theirs 1 area that has no level cap.

ken, like mcdermid stated, it's not necessary to learn any skill or class. However, given how you gain classes, learning as you level up will certainly make things easier. Afterall, you can just switch sometime after getting back to the present time. Even if you don't remember or don't feel like going back to Dharma everytime a new class is mastered, the game is so long, the opportunities to go back and switch are many.

If you want any tips at all for what class paths to take people down, say 2-3 normal classes, and one second tier, if that's all you want to accomplish by the end of the game, then feel free to ask :).

Slipping again Vegh. Now it's level 80 grind in DQ6, not 40's or 60's. Can you maintain consistency for once? Oh wait, you're like Obama, everytime you get caught in a lie, you come up with a new one, minced with some half-truths for a shred of credibility at times.

There are a few other mistakes I didn't feel like posting about, but the past few months you've gotten sloppy. It used to be very consistent repetition that you'd repeat ad infinitum, never diverging to any number. Now your numbers are all over the board, while the heart of your message, the core remains. Still, sloppy.

What's wrong, have I hit you so hard so many times in catching your mistakes that you got desperate, and now no longer retain the same sense of mind to keep the Vegh troll/bot system working to your liking?

I never hit level 80 in a dragon quest game the 80 is the hours it took me to master most if NOT all the human jobs x5 pc's in this dragon quest game.

In DQ6 DS Version I could have 6 to 8x hero's ASAP and still beat the game in only 30 to 40 hours.

Caught you in another lie to cover up a prior mistake. You never actually said 80 anything, only 8x, but you did alter something else. I merely used that as a trap. Thank you for falling into it.

The 8x hero 's in my DQ 6 posts doesn't refer to 80 + hours it refers to having the entire party which is up to 8 pc's joining ALL in the hero job and it mastered ASAP.

Just like how my 5x post in Dragon quest 7 doesn't refer to playing for +50 hours it refers to having all 5 party members in every human job class mastered.

No while having all skills/spells in this one and DQ 6's isn't required I did it anyways to easily meet the must kill bonus dungeon boss in under 20 turns requirement even though I only used Gigaslash and Ultra hit x4 times in their respective games but had to be at level 60 to survive the non boss fights on the way to bonus dungeon boss while still having most of my parties HP and MP intact.

Trying so hard to recover. Selective memory perhaps? Or maybe it's an error in your memory circuitry. Whatever the case, Carrot Cyborgs make for foolish bots and annoying trolls.

Oh, but I can't wait for the day when you leave. The only sadness is knowing some other poor saps will be forced to trifle with your incessant, nonnegotiable, rampant and unending tomfoolery.

Well I mastered all jobs ASAP in both DQ6 (for the first) 8 party members that join in DQ6 and all human jobs in DQ 7 x5 party members to easily pwn the bonus dungeon enemies/bosses way before you fight them similar to how I always made disc 1 Lionheart (via mugged laser cannons) to pwn Tonberries before those even show up in FF8.

Besides the casino takes forever to win gold in a DQ game so ALL my gold in a dragon quest game is from taking the max party members you can have join and have them with the Hero job mastered DQ6 or ALL human jobs mastered in DQ7.

I will never leave message boards for games I play/played unless I'm banned from gamefaqs and that's never going to happen any time soon.

and assuming the 3DS version get localized I will have all human jobs mastered by all 5 pc's quicker in that version then in this one ie Hero Gabo and Maribel with ALL of them mastered as soon as you free the temple (below level 19).

With the other 2 party members having the jobs mastered after they join the party but before the next require story line area can be started.

For both DQ 6 DS and this one its very easy to have all human jobs mastered either 8 times in DQ6 or 5 times in this one by level 45 assuming you learn whistle ASAP.
