Question about differences between green label and black label

#1Unfernal_ServerPosted 4/10/2010 8:22:27 PM
Hi. I'm going to be purchasing this game off of ebay soon, and I was wondering about the difference between the original black label, and the green, greatest hits, version. Which version(s) come with the special music disc? Also, are there any other differences?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer my questions.

if you plan on playing on a PS3, get the Greatest hits Version. The original black label glitches and freezes.

I will not change this until Cal goes to the Rose Bowl.

Greatest Hits version is the way to go, even though the original comes with the music disc, the Greatest Hits version performs WAY better on the PS3. Have not had a single problem playing FF5 so far, plus, there's hardly any lag save for loading times. Sacrificing a music disc for better performance in the games themselves? Sure, I'll take a small loss for a big gain.

I'll either be playing this on a PS1 or a PS2. Does it make a difference on either of those? Also, to clarify, the green label does not come with the music disc?

It still makes a difference in that the save screen in FF5 is no longer garbled to high hell, the code was modified to prevent that, I also heard that it does eliminate a fair amount of slowdown, which after playing on my PS3, I can attest that this is indeed the truth, FF5 is almost seamless. FF6 hasn't given me any problems either. The Greatest Hits version does not include the soundtrack, but honestly, while a fair amount of the songs on it were good, I honestly feel it's not worth hunting down the original black label version. Get the Greatest Hits version, am glad I got it off of someone on e-Bay and in pristine condition. I missed these games.

Alright, you've sold me. And yeah, I found a brand new, factory sealed version of the greatest hits on Ebay. So I should be buying it today. Thanks guys.

Awesome, I hope you didn't end up paying an arm and a leg for it, mine was only played twice, so I made out like a bandit in getting it for 14.50 including S&H, either way I hope you enjoy the games. They still hold up very well.
