I noticed that sentence needed some correction.

Poor Quina gets too much hate. Everybody knows that goofy lil' Qu is the real main character >.>

Just wasn't a fan. IX has problems with characters who don't contribute much to the story [Freya, Amarant and arguably Steiner], but Quina is the only character who contributes absolutly nothing outside of getting into Fossil Roo. I love Blue Mages, but Quina's mechanic of eating enemies just felt weird to me, admittedly purely because it's different, not to mention awkward [who hasn't accidentally killed that one enemy and had trouble finding it again?] Plus looks wise S/he just freaked me out as a kid.

I dunno. If you like Him/her, power to you, I just never did.

We have people like roy and loseless, who might have things stuck up their butt and can't enjoy comic relief characters.

You want the entire cast to be angsty brooding characters with some sort of drama? I'll pass.

Plus, a fork? Really? Hadn't Final Fantasy had enough stupid weapons already?!?
Who freaken cares, does every character have to use some kind of cliche "badass" weapon meant to cut down armies?

I personally think a guitar that shoots out lighting and bats was one of the most awesome weapon ideas ever conceived.

Seriously? Since I don't share your opinion I must have a stick up my butt? Who said anything about wanting brooding or angsty characters? I think you are overly defensive about a fictional character in a game.

As for enjoying comic relief characters? Cait Sith - loved that character. Moogles in 9 - loved them. Fujin/Raijin in 8 - loved them. There are more of course. Gau and Quina were extremely annoying to me. You don't need to like it but please refrain from being insulting because you have a different opinion.

I agree Quina is not an easy character. Is the one who takes more time to develop, but if you are patient enough, could be the most lethal character.

I said might, and the word was "things".

Who said anything about wanting brooding or angsty characters?
The way you worded your first post seemed to imply that. You said Quina looked stupid, because comic relief characters have to look "cool" right? And last time I checked Cait Sith and the moogles aren't really on the level of "cool". You also hate Quina enough you "wish I could leave it in swamp to rot", so who seems to have a hatred of Quina on a whole different level?

One funny thing I thought about Quina was, that his/her English sounded similiar to the English of my friends :D
People here don't speak English that good.

I loved Quina. He was a beast in battle and he was also very funny. I love the scene when Quina is in Memoria swimming and Zidane is like " Wtf are you doing ?" Zidane doesn't really say that but that's probably what Zidane would be thinking if he was a real person.

For the first time i reach the infamous '50 Spirit' with one character, Quina the Dragonslayer, it takes me from level 15 to 94 killing Grand Dragons with the proper gear. Is amazing, with auto-regen every two seconds Quina gains vitality making him/her almost invincible.

...

Never more, i'm really tired of killing dragons. In my future playthroughs i won't care about statics, just play the thing.
