120 gil in Dali for a perfect game

#1penance44Posted 2/2/2014 12:59:09 PM
The perfect game FAQ lists the 120 gil pick up (overground towards the left) as something you should pick up on disk 1 (as in, it's in the list of items at the top of the disk 1 Dali section). But towards the end of the FAQ it states that this 120 gil is available on any disk. I'm wondering why it would be listed as necessary to get during the first visit to Dali during disk 1 if it can be gotten at any time, as with the rest of the above ground items in Dali. I'm asking as I've gone past this point before realising I didn't get the 120 gil and so I'm wondering if I need to go back to a previous save to get it.

Nah, you don't have to redo that part just because of the gil. Not picking it up won't ruin anything and you can always pick it up on the later Dali visits if you need it.

Still seems strange that...

* Potion [C] in the Dali inn; in the far left of the room
* Antidote [C] in the Dali inn; in the far right of the room
* Aries [F] in the Windmill; in the rear of the bottom floor

...wasn't added to the disk 1 Dali items-to-get list, but...

* 120 Gil [F] on the Village Road; next to the big wheel

...was.

I've already gone back to the previous save and gotten it anyway.

It's in there because it can help with the gil crunch in Lindblum depending on your situation. You don't have to get it.

Ok, thanks.

Something else I have noticed with the guide, which I though I'd add here instead of a new topic; during the Festival of the Hunt it says to equip Zidane with The Ogre, but then says to enable Bandit, which is usable with the Mythril Dagger. During one of the strategies for Zaghnol it says to use the trance ability Shift Break which I believe is usable with The Ogre equipped, (obviously ignoring the idea that abilities could be fully learnt at this stage) so I'm guessing the advice is that The Ogre should be equipped at the expense of Bandit, but it's something that stumped me for a while and may confuse others. In the end I equipped Mythril Dagger because I would imagine stealing the Needle Fork without it would be a pain.

Ugh, I'm so sick of correcting that part, I give up. monkeyslinger, any ideas? Ditch Bandit for more Att Pow and Shift Break, or the other way around?

When you crunch the numbers, Bandit really isn't all that helpful at this point, so it can be sacrificed to make way for a better weapon and battle strategy.

I wish you good luck, little boy. You're going to need it.

Yeah, the benefit of Bandit is pretty small this early in the game. Definitely go with The Ogre.
