End of Disc 3... WTF. *SPOILERS*

This is one of the only FF games I never got around to finishing, so am currently playing through it. I just wanted to point out that I really dislike all of the scripted fights that you cannot win.

For example, I just steamrolled the Silver Dragon, Garland, and, well, not Kuja... I never did less that 9,999 damage per hit in these fights, and that was only after stealing everything they held. Needless to say, when Kuja has 42,382 HP, and I deal 9,999 damage 5 turns in a row, for a measly 49,995 damage, and then losing because the script says so?

Rather annoying, if you ask me. I really hate scripted fights like this.

....

You realize your supposed to lose the fight right? So it doesn't matter how many damage you can bumrush, you will still "lose" the fight and the boss will still "survive" and use its prescripted events.

You were not fighting a scripted fight. If you lose before he attains his trance then you have to do the whole boss rush again.

Yeah, Kuja using Flare Star to end the fight and continue the story actually means you won. If you lose for real, it's Game Over, Reload From Last Save. He will do the same thing the next time you meet him. He survives the fight and "beats" you if you win, but it's Game Over if you lose.

So you did bum rush him.

.. curse my inability to edit after an hour! ... yes. Ultima. I don't know why I remembered it as Flare Star.

Scripted fights can become annoying if they're implemented too frequently. Wild Arms 5 probably did it more than any other game I've ever seen. how many scripted losses were there in that game? 7? 8? I'll have to replay it to see at some point.

Anyway, as others have said, Kuja isn't a scripted fight. You must deplete all his HP in order to make him cast Ultima, ending the battle. It doesn't run on an invisible timer like the Beatrix fights.

Yes while arms 5 has the most unbeatable bosses ie way over leveled but unlike FF9 Wild Arms 5 has a NG+ mode and levels do transfer over so those wild arms 5 bosses are beatable.

the only scripted boss fight in this FF games are the 3x Beatrix fights after 1 minute she drains all your HP to 1 HP left and you can't actually drain all her HP to zero at all.>

But yes the Kuja fights both of them end with Ultima but you'll still get a game over if he kills you before hits HP hits zero
