FFX Challenge Game

#1mninpPosted 1/24/2008 4:33:06 PM
I thought of a good idea where we can take the NSG challenges to a funner, more competitive level. Basically, you play FFX, and you record how long it took you to beat a particular boss. You look at the in-game time before a boss fight, then you look at the in-game time immediately after the boss fight. Cut-scenes do affect the time. Also, you can pick which difficulty you want to play on. The levels of difficulty are:

Easy: Standard NSG challenge

Medium: NSG/NS/NO challenge

Hard: NSG/NS/NI challenge

Expert: NSG/NS/NO/NI challenge

The NSG/NS/NO/NI is so far (I think) impossible. But with enough competition in this game, we can make it possible. When you beat a boss and get your time for that battle, post it in this topic and I'll add it to the list of high-scores under the speciffic difficulty you did it for.

This is basically a competition of the fastest way to beat a boss under the restrictions of the challenge. Just beating it is now a minor issue. You have to beat it fast.

Seriously guys, no lying. It's no fun for anyone else if you lie. If you do happen to get an insanely good time on a boss fight, a video will be required.

State in this topic only if you want to join. Then go ahead and start playing. You don't have to post the time of the bosses in order, in fact it dosen't matter what boss you post a time for. For example, you can post a time for Seymor Natus before you post a time for Tros. I recommend you save a new file for every boss fight, since you'll want to increase your time-score on a particular boss when your time-score gets beat. Again, I will record all time-scores in this topic. This is not a topic on whether or not you like this idea. Please no flaming if you don't like this idea. Simply post only if you're willing to join. Thanks.

NSGNSNO is harder than NSGNSNI.

NSGNSNINO is impossible. No way around it.

Whoops, I thought NSG/NS/NI was harder than NSG/NS/NO. Then just switch them around in terms of the sifficulty setting I put up in the first post. Also, what part of the NSG/NS/NO/NI challenge is everyone stuck on?

you would have to get extremely lucky against Gui, then there's Seymour and Anima (you can't do enough damage to Anima). Evrae i suspect is a no goer too (can't heal). And quite a few others.

NSGNSNCNI is easier than NSGNSNCNO. Unless you add NENNE (or just NTQ on the NI challenge).

But to be honest, I don't really like this idea... It'd be just trying to kill the boss as quickly as possible, which requires luck on some fights if you want absolute speed.

Plus it'd be REALLY tedious. For instance, in any non-NI challenges you could just play BB for Dark Matters before you got access to Trio (or get MORE Dark Matters in NO challenges).

Actually, I forgot to mention that all challenges will have an auto NBB/NTQ challenge added to them.
