poolmav2007Posted 7/8/2012 10:08:30 PM | I'm on my third play through, and I've change my main characters each time.
My first time through I choose all the characters but didn't use Kimahri at all.
My second play through I choose Tidus, Wakka and Kimahri and it work out just fine.
My third play through I choose, whenever possible, Yuna, Rikku and Lulu. I'm surprise by how useful Lulu is. Her magic ends up winning most battles for me.
Rikku is almost useless in my opinion. Except for her steal ability she doesn't have any stats that really stand out.
I may play through a fourth time with one of my main characters being Auron and the other two randomly selected.
Just wanted to share that with you all. I'm sorta bored?
I know this question has been one this board a few before, but, "What is your main"? |
ZantesuskenPosted 7/8/2012 10:18:02 PM | Yes, Lulu is definitely one of the best characters during the main story. Especially if you like to overlevel, she will overkill anything that comes in her path, far faster and earlier than anyone else(providing you use each character's individual Sphere Grid), though once Yuna can learn some black magic she is usually the better choice because of Aeons and her superior Agility. At that point, Lulu still functions just fine as you're probably hitting close to 9999 anyway, and she has WAY more defences that Yuna, but in general offence>defence.
As for Rikku, she is without doubt the most broken, insanely powerful character in the game. This is, however, if you know how to use her. She can beat the game by herself without ever using the SG. In a normal playthrough however, there is very little need for strategies so complex, and she does tend to fall behind. She does make an excellent backup Black Mage if you take her down Lulu's path because of her speed, and she can also become a fairly acceptable physical fighter.
Another common misconception that's worth noting is that Auron has the highest Strength and Defense. Wakka actually has the highest Strength and Lulu Defense.
--Why I went into that? I felt like it. anyway, as for the question you asked, my main time for the storyline is usually Tidus, Wakka, and Lulu, with Rikku taking over for Lulu near the final dungeon or shortly after. |
jakezing33Posted 7/9/2012 12:08:58 AM | for a good chunk of the early to mid game, Khimari > Auron, because of that 10% spear and the fact hes a half tidus half auron combo --- Currently Playing: Medieval II/Rome Total War Gold, Final Fantasy XIII-2 & Chrono Trigger DS Xbox: Ssteiner209 | Steam: jakezing |

Are you riding a spreadsheet? Stop being a statistician. :j
I use 'em all, every playthrough. Neglected Yuna and Kimahri on my very first playthrough and ended up grinding to compensate. The game's more fun for me using everyone. And agreed, black magic is very useful in FFX.
Try a topic search for characters by name. Might turn up some ideas from years past that you may find interesting. --- Guides and other contributions: http://www.esque.com/slr/gamefaqs/ FFX, FFXII, KH, KH Re:CoM, KH2, Okage: Shadow King, Secret Agent Clank |
ImbackhahahahaPosted 7/9/2012 9:50:28 AM | I always end up with Tidus, Yuna, Auron. Tidus has the speed and easy access to Auron's grid to gain power, same with Auron in the opposite way. Yuna has a higher magic stat than Lulu so teaching her black magic will make battles very easy --- A_dsouz "How do i know if, say, +4 is significant or not compared to +6." digitalwill2000 "6 is bigger than 4" |
drclaeysPosted 7/9/2012 10:14:16 AM | Friends,
I also end up with Tidus, Yuna, Auron. Because of there Easy Cel weapons.
Yuna for summons, Auron, he seems to hit hard, Tidus for quick or double hit.
Kim always get ignored. Lulu gets ignored for Yuna. I think that outfit and that bending over at the end of a fight is CHEAP. She just turns me off. ( sorry. )
