SpirasGuardian posted... I just recently tried lightning dodging for the first time. it was kind of frustrating at first, but i got it pretty quick thanks to a little hole where lightning strikes twice extremely fast over and over again. I got 435 consecutive strikes this way, i could have gone all night honestly but i knew i had to have been past 200 so i just stopped. My characters stop talking before the Operation so i dont have that problem, lol --- From this point on, all you opinions will be rejected!
jakezing33 posted... early game with tutorials. after so many playthroughs, i just dont care I find the whole concept of pairing off elements to be annoying in and of itself. For all that ice is solid water it's not as effective at diminishing flames. In the first place the matrices water molecules form when it freezes causes ice to take up more volume than water for equal masses, and in the second place it being a solid means that it's much more likely to sublimate before doing anything to (significantly) diminish the flames than it is to melt and do something useful. Having a nice, traditional elemental wheel of fire->ice->lightning (because cold can slow down the flow of electrons thereby weakening electrical effects)->water-> fire would have been much, much better. Still, video game reality and what does or doesn't make given effects "realistic" is completely subjective to the intents of the developers so if they want to make a fantasy game where water and lightning are equally effective against fire while ice is highly effective that's their prerogative regardless of how asinine it appears to be from the outside. :-/ _____ Other than that I'll toss my vote in for the FMV and cut scenes being unable to be skipped. I'm also really, really not fond of the game timer ot pausing when the game is paused. I mean seriously, what sort of moron continues the game clock when the game is paused? Game: "You've got 12 hours of play time!" Player: "But I only played for 4 hours before passing out!" Game: "Tough s***ski, comrade. Take it up with developer who never realize people go AFK/sleep while gaming." --- Stop complaining. I could have done this more painfully. - Dryad from Sacred 2.
jakezing33 posted... (because cold can slow down the flow of electrons thereby weakening electrical effects) Completely false statement. As the temperature of an object goes down, resistance in that object goes down as well and vice versa. If resistance goes down, you can use Ohm's Law I=V/R and see that if R goes down, the I (current) of an object goes up. Before trying to sound smart by talking about science do some research. Proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_resistance_and_conductance In conductors, as temp goes up resistance goes up.
Are we really arguing about which of the elemental powers can triumph over the other? I mean, clearly, it's heart/spirit. --- "Brother, life's a b****, and she's back in heat."
^After all, I've never heard anyone sing, "We've got fire, yes we do, we've got fire, how 'bout you?" --- "Brother, life's a b****, and she's back in heat."
NKUNorseman posted... Marikhen posted...(because cold can slow down the flow of electrons thereby weakening electrical effects) It's a good thing you only specifically mentioned conductors. From the page you linked: "Near room temperature, the resistivity of metals typically increases as temperature is increased, while the resistivity of semiconductors typically decreases as temperature is increased. The resistivity of insulators and electrolytes may increase or decrease depending on the system." You also didn't quite get what I was saying as I didn't say a thing about what the electrons were flowing through. Since you want to use Wikipedia for relevant scientific proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature "On the molecular level, temperature is the result of the motion of the particles that constitute the material. Moving particles carry kinetic energy. Temperature increases as this motion and the kinetic energy increase. The motion may be the translational motion of particles, or the energy of the particle due to molecular vibration or the excitation of an electron energy level" I was referring to, and only to, the movement of the particles themselves. Now if you know of any particles that move faster as they lose kinetic energy I'm all ears. Heck, if you can provide credible proof that electrons are just such particles I'd be very interested to read it. Still, it would possibly be interesting if we went into real high brow territory and started with "fire" and "ice" being, for all intents and purposes, descriptions of magic being used to directly manipulate the energy state of matter whereas "lightning" (or thunder, electricity, etc.) and "water" are direct magical manipulation of matter itself. Possibly. By the way you should really double check your quoting. You used the wrong name in your cite block. --- Stop complaining. I could have done this more painfully. - Dryad from Sacred 2.
Sinspawn Gui, the first time, just because it takes so damn long. Not a difficult boss, by any means, but good god it takes FOREVER for this guy to go down.
The random encounter rate. The Cloister of Trials in Bevelle and Macalania. Seymour Flux. Everything about him. The way everyone says "you know" at the end of every other sentence. Very grating and clearly just there to fit the mouth movements. The revelation in Home, for example, sounded stupid because of it. Very nearly ruined the mood for me. EgoKiller801 posted... SharmHedgehog posted..."Yunie's gonna die, you know!?" This conversation especially makes me laugh at how repetitively-written it is. I consider it the equivalent of VII's infamous "that's how you'll fool them" scene. "Zanarkand's on the other side, you know?" "I know." "Yunie's gonna summon the final aeon, you know?" "I know." Worse yet is that this happens before Seymour Flux, so you're basically bound to memorize it due to the unskippable cutscenes. --- R.I.P. fungivore, 2012-2012 |
