Treasure Box Shop: Transparent Boxes w/o lens?

In an archived message, someone said there's fairly sure-fire way to look at the boxes from the middle of the room to find the "more transparent one" and something about a silver/white pixel that you can see that will have the key in it. I was trying to do this and I haven't been able to. Granted, I'm playing on the GCN disc, but I thought it was pretty much a straightforward port...?

Anybody have a SC or been able to do this? I was trying for like an hour to get it as a kid before the mirror because I can't stand leaving something undone. haha

Uh, you could just try it without cheating. It's not really that hard.

I spent an hour trying with no luck, that's why I was curious to know if there was a trick before the mirror. Someone had said something about checking out the boxes, and another said do a zig-zag if the chest on the right is the key. (Which of course doesn't work)

So I was wondering if anybody did ever do the trick mentioned above.

If you look through the seam between the box and the lid you can sometimes see a few pixels of the key. I don't know the exact angles, but as far as I know that's all you have to do.

Or you could just get the Lens of Truth by using that really easy Cucco trick.

^yeah, this. I don't think I've gotten the Lens normally since I found out about it, I always get it just after the Deku Tree.
