I'm at Tomb of Queclopec(or whatever(furthest I've ever gotten)) I love the series but I'm starting to remember why the only TR games I've ever completed are Legend, Anniversary and Underworld --- Parasite Eve(Blind) Episode 06 - Day 5(pt2) - http://youtu.be/LBSRVjP0IVA Parasite Eve(Blind) Episode 07 - Day 5(pt3) - http://youtu.be/aj5kyYAQVf8
Yes the controls are hard at first. I mean the level design and overall experience(no checkpoints, no hints, no auto-grap, no nothing). --- If you call the Devil, Dante will come. If you call Dante, then...Devil May Cry...
The Save Points are Checkpoints. Hints, running around for 10 minutes, same thing, I grew up with games without hints. I don't miss Auto-grab but my first TR was TRII so I knew going in it wasn't there.
The controls are the most annoying. It's like it should control like Resident Evil yet it doesn't, maybe it's just that some turns seem to blend in so you can't tell you where supposed to turn until you hit the wall.
I remember being able to back flip and everything, now I just end up getting pinned half the time which sucks because you can't hit the enemy so all you can do is wait for your life bar to empty and try again. --- Parasite Eve(Blind) Episode 06 - Day 5(pt2) - http://youtu.be/LBSRVjP0IVA Parasite Eve(Blind) Episode 07 - Day 5(pt3) - http://youtu.be/aj5kyYAQVf8
The controls have always been love or hate. After playing for long enough, though, it starts to feel very fluid, very precise and predictable. I think that's the main reason I love the grid system and manual grab. If you make a mistake it's entirely your own doing, and conversely when you nail a big jump it's entirely your own doing.
I've been playing this again too with Glidos. --- Do unto others what your parents did to you.
