Anyone who played this way back when?

I played this from the release in 1997 to 2005, on the Pacific shard. Spent most of my time in Magincia. I guess the chances of anyone having frequented that specific shard and that specific city looking here was rare, but hey, figured it was worth a try. :P

Anyone remember Ben Kahns? The seer who ran the Great Horns Tavern. He did a quest once where his brother Zed got players to help him kill a specially named sea serpent. Then there was when the theatre got built on top of the bar. Good times, I was in the first play. :<

Oh yeah, and when Lord British came to the theatre. :D

I'm in the blue robe at the top of the screen. I miss old UO -- best mmorpg ever. I didn't mind Trammel so much, but when all the other new landmasses came out... I dunno, the player-base just felt so fragmented. :< It was a big enough blow when more than half the people moved from Felucca to Trammel.

I played from pre-ren (about 1998 or so) up through AOS. The new land masses also turned me away from the game. I wasn't exactly happy with tram but I dealt with it.

My characters were: Alucard, Kliff, Demona, and Donkey

I played on Lake Superior and spent my time around Yew Gate and on Ice Island.

My buddy and I ran the guild, AOD, the HQ was a castle on Ice Island.

By the way, there are a lot of cool freeshards out there. I used to play one called metropolis, but they closed shop and merged with a different shard. That was the last one I've played. But I've heard of a couple of others:

Angel Island

I actually have looked at those and I can't deny that they sparked me interest in starting up again on one of them. I did try playing a player run shard once, but I lost interest pretty fast. I need to convince one of my friends who played with me to try it also, then maybe I'll be able to stick around :P

My first character ever was on Lake Superior :D His name was Huo. One of the first things I did was walk from Yew to Britain, which took forever hehe. :P I didn't play on Lake Superior for long though.. AOD sounds kind of familiar though, was it ever on the main website with the top ten guilds and such?

I'd say out of all the expansions, the Second Age was my favorite. I can't remember then ame of the other town(Del something?), but I liked Papau or however you spell it. I also admittedly had alot of fun at champion spawns when they came out. I can't remember exactly when that was though.. I want to say Publish 16, when the magic resistance and armor changes kicked in, but I don't think that's right.

Thanks for the sites though.. I'm really gonna consider starting up on one of those. I play WoW alot now, but I miss UO's awesome character building and community. :<

Yeah, AOD (Army of Darkness), we were in the top 10 on LS for a couple of years. Our peace guild as atleast. Our warring A0D, didn't do as well. The castle on Ice Island for our peace guild really helped out.

t2a was definately the best expansion. Champ spawns and the different resitencases were AOS i think. That is when the game started dieing for me.

t2a had Delucia and Papua! Loved it!

I played from Beta to 2002 as Artful Dodger on the Baja Shard.

I was a known player but rarely seen unless you were in Destard (remember the open bag of flour and Blade Spirit trick?).

I've always thought about returning and just might to check out the new client.

I played Chessy, Pac and Atlantic from release. Later on I just played on Legends, Siege and TestCenter. I quit some time in 2002.
