Jecht Shot Challenge

#1AlthalusGPosted 12/14/2009 2:18:00 PM
Is it possible to obtain the Jecht shot after Lady Yunalesca has been defeated? I went to besaid and got on the boat there but when I went out on the deck the blitz ball wasnt there. Am I in the wrong place to catch the SS Liki or what? HELP! lol

I would assume that the Jecht shot is available to obtain anytime you have access to the inter-island ferry services. Try getting on the boat in Luca, if it's not there warp to Besaid and try board from there, and finally try and board from Kilika. If you still don't find it, then I don't know seeing as I always got the Jecht shot the first time on the ship.

The boat you need runs between Kilika and Luca.

Ugh, another special case. I'll have to account for it in FFXED.

Pondering how thatís a special case. Won, not won. Hmm, how about enabling the mini-game, even after itís won...?

An off-topic question for you, fuzzymillipede. I donít hack my saves, but what do you know about how the Al Bhed primers are stored and how the compilation spheres function? Donít know about anyone else, but I always worry about which saves I can safely delete. My e-mail addy is linked below and on my Contributor page, if you prefer taking it off-line.

There are other flags that are activated only if you beat the JSC on the first try. If you uncheck the box in FFXED you can do the JSC again.

I am confused. What do you mean by "safely delete"?

In a normal playthrough, you wake up in Submerged Ruins, swim over to the compilation sphere, and it "finds" any primers youíve already learned in earlier games. Itís reading that info from somewhere. My concern is that by deleting an old game-save from a memory card, Iím trashing any primers resident in that save. Or does the compilation sphere copy the primers to the new game-save, rather than just link pointers to the earlier save(s)? Hope that makes any more sense. You seemed a likely candidate to finally answer that for me, but if itís a case of "I donít know", then maybe itís something of value for some future update. Thanks.

well of course it copies them from save to save. "linking" saves together would be insane. as you can see in ffxed the primers are represented by a bunch of true or false values. which i think are only one bit in size

And since the compilation sphere just sets the appropriate primer flags in the current game, hanging onto any game-save with its flags all set is sufficient (for those without the means to employ FFXED). Excellent, thank you for the info.
