2012 FAQ Tournament - Seeding, Preliminary Information, and the Bracket

Hi everyone! This is the only major update before the preliminaries on Wednesday. Website http://superluigi16.webs.com/2012-faq-tournament Tournament Bracket If you go to the website, you'll see the very obvious bracket at the top of the page. The 64-entrant bracket is divided into four divisions: F, A, Q, and S. When you spell those out, you get FAQS, obviously. Anyway, each division has been optimized so that it does not have any FAQs for the same game or any FAQs by the same author, barring Bkstunt and his five entered FAQs. The only way a FAQ by the same author or for the same game will meet is if they both make it to the semifinals in the F/A or Q/S divisions, or both make it to the final from any division. The likelihood of this happening is obviously rather low. The tournament bracket itself will likely be updated every other day. Also, the number code in the bracket can be deciphered with the aid of the Guide Info at the bottom of the page. Seeding If you go to the bottom of that page, you'll see the seeding for each division. They're in order from highest seed (for instance [34] is seed number 2) to lowest seed ([47] is seed number 15). You can use the bracket code to track your FAQ on the larger tournament bracket. The seeds are very loosely created, so disregard our seedings if you think they're stupid; your votes should focus on the guides, not whatever number we assigned them. :) The guides in the preliminaries will enter the competition at the number 1 (and, for some, number 2) seed in their division. The rationale behind this was that, if a FAQ has already beaten another FAQ by a highly qualified author, it should move into the top seed for its division. Also, all guides in the preliminaries are written by authors with two or more guides in the competition. You can view the six matchups on the website. These matchups are very important given that the winners move into the first/second seed in their respective division. Feel free to PM an early vote to either Red or me if you know you will not have time or be able to vote during those times. That will also apply to all other matchups. You may vote early if you are unsure of your ability later to do so. Matchups All matchups through Round 1 have been posted, contingent upon the winners of the preliminaries. You can view your upcoming matchups there. Rules and other information will be posted in the preliminary topic as they are still being finalized. Because they're fighting for the first seed of their bracket, I just gave them "a" and "b" designations. Did you set up your KH3D against my PMSS on purpose? =P Well, doesn't matter either way. Can't wait for Wednesday, then. (Wednesday is the 6th, not Tuesday, in the U.S. I think.)
