I see. Wouldn't it be a bit awkward including an envelope, like you expected them to reply? I wouldn't want my fan letter to seem like a burden.

Might be lucky enough to get pre-generated Courtesy mail from publisher/author if they got your mail, but very few author will actually bother to reply when they got mail. Just don't expect too much for reply when you send one.

Somewhat possibly. The thing is, if you want a response back and if they do wish to respond to your letter, they're stuck coming up with the envelope, postage, and transcribing your address. Sending one along spares them the effort.

If you're concerned about your mail being a burden, and don't mind not getting a response, just don't ask any questions that would call for an answer, and send them a post card so they don't have a used envelope to dispose of.

I, for one, would be in favor of a world where Japan was the only existing culture. Get with the times, rest of the world!

I remember Oda once put a piece of foreign fanmail in the SBS untranslated. His reply was something to the effect of "I have no idea what this says, but I can feel your heart just by looking at the words".

Then again, Oda's more than a bit eccentric.

It's a Q&A segment Oda has in some volumes of one piece.

You should also know HnK has two guys, Tetsuo Hara and Buronson (can't remember his real name).

Hara does the art and Buronson does the story although it's a collaborative effort so both are responsible for design elements, character creation, and general themes.

So make sure to write both :P

What? You can't blame the world. Japan should have started centuries ago. It's their own fault they haven't been that interested in conquest. But surely, it would have happened!

And man that image earlier was perfect. Applicable in so many situations... sigh.
