PETA made a Pokemon parody game

#1FateStayAlbionPosted 10/8/2012 10:04:53 AM

"Much like animals in the real world, Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments. The way that Pokémon are stuffed into pokéballs is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods …if PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokémon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist for their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children."

Seriously, PETA is just so far up their asses at this point. They'll do anything to convince people that animal abuse is every where and influenced by even the most minimal cases in what may be misconstrued as abuse. They've become disconnected with the animal organizations that actually do any good.

If Pikachu doesn't want to get his pokeball, we don't hit him with a crowbar to get him back in or taser him. We respect the fact that he doesn't. Pokemon was based on the mutual understanding that both Trainer and Pokemon respect each other and have a good friendship. Besides, they only used the damn games as their source argument when there are a lot more source material to be explored.

Then again, this is PETA so they'll do anything to make themselves look like they are the saviors of animals, even by ignoring other sources that prove their arguments wrong.

So this allegedly anti-animal-violence game parody is taking a completely innocent, bloodless game, where pokemon spar much like we humans do ourselves in martial arts, and then they proceed to splat random blood over it to make it seem edgy and controversial.

Is it just me, or they are completely missing the point?
