Everything I learned, I learned from the movies

Professor X is supposed to be in someone else's body after X3? Didn't Magneto and some others lose their powers after the "mutant cure" in X3?

That body happens to be his twin brother who has been under care due to severe brain damage when Prof X's powers manifested in their mother's womb.

As evident in the ending of X3, Magento didn't seem to get the full blast of the "cure" since he was able to slightly move the chess piece. I can imagine his powers slowly returning over time and with future tech and crap, he found a way to extract the cure from his body.

Right, I googled the Professor X thing after posting that. It's still not ok... That's not something that should be explained by a director but never mentioned in the movie. And it seems like Singer and Ratner aren't even on the same page about what actually happened.

Also, that's incredibly dumb. I know dumb stuff like that happens in comic books but... we've mostly avoided it in the movies. You're telling me they kept Professor X's brain dead (since before they were born) twin alive and on life support for 50+ years? And I guess the twin just also happens to be able to not walk?

But hey, X3 basically never happened now, so none of this matters. Can't blame Singer for trying to pretend that never happened, then literally making it not happen.

You're right about Magneto too, I forgot about that scene.

Well Austin that's what happens in the comics as well so its acceptable. They could have explained things better I agree. But its not some dumb twist for the movie its actual comic book story line.

However I think the twin was a vegetable so when professor x assumes the new body its essentially just professor x again I guess the not walking thing is kind of questionable but the comic books are to blame for that.

Okay I saw bridesmaids for the first time, my take away is Kristen wiig is hot

Saw 21 jumpstreet for the first time, solid comedy, jonah hill and that channing tatum have a lot of comedic chemistry

Godzilla was awesome. The scale of everything was amazing. I loved how the little nods to the past like serizawa and how totally insignificant people were in the wake of giant monsters attacking

Saw x-men also. Best comic movie this year. Blink and quicksilver were amazing

Going to see maleficent and the fault in our stars next I guess and probably 22 jumpstreet

Watched Fox and the Hound again recently

I have to admit, the waterworks did come out

I feel like it hits a little harder now that I'm older and have had to say goodbye to many friends

Edge of Tomorrow was, in fact, really good. There are two really cheesy moments where I rolled my eyes hard, but the other 99% of the movie was really solid.

Upcoming movies I wish to see:

the signal
the rover
boyhood
the purge anarchy
wish I was here
kill the messenger
kingmans the secret service
foxcatcher

of all the trailers I watched these movies intrigued me the most. Especially the signal and boyhood.

Rewatched Deathly Hallows Part 2 since it happened to be on TV while I was cooking. It was in the last act though so I wouldn't call it a full rewatch.

But man, The Prince's Tale scene is so good. Music is SSS+.
