What do you think of Chuck's idea of USA vs international players for the ASG?

Instead of East vs. West, you pit a team of the best American players, against a team of the best international players. With the large number of international talent in the league now, this is totally plausible. Like Kenny said, it would be cool to do at least one year. I think it's a cool concept and would be something different.

It's an old idea trotted out every year. The internationals are too weak now. It would be unfair to many deserving American all-star candidates.

International team get a spot for being foreign, while deserving players in the NBA get cut off

I think it has been done before for NHL. The league certainly has enough foreign players for that nowadays.

I wouldn't really get the point of this outside of what we do at the Olympics, which is, "We're America. Bend over."

Don't like it.

There are already too many snubs as it is. There would be even more snubs on the USA side if they did that. Plus I am arrogant enough to say that the game wouldn't be a contest. The USA would squash the Euros.

I do like the idea of picking two captians and then letting them pick the teams like they did in hockey once(dunno if they still do it or not). Like let Kobe and Lebron pick their squads from a pool of all-stars voted on by fans and players and coaches. Or more to the point, Lebron and KD, since they were in the Finals last year.
