SAS and Skip really went in on D'Antoni on First Take, my goodness.

SAS was saying D'Antoni was extremely disrespectful towards Kobe by calling him a fan because just a few weeks ago he was running the 34 year old face of the franchise into the ground and he had the nerve to call him a fan while Kobe was sitting at home tweeting about how it was killing him watching his team struggle and he can't do anything about it.

"HE OWES KOBE BRYANT A PUBLIC APOLOGY, TODAY! NOT TOMORROW, TODAY!"

He also called D'Antoni a bad coach who has been perennially stubborn first in Phoenix when he didn't want to take on Thibs as his defensive coordinator despite him being one of the brightest minds in the NBA today, then in New York with the Knicks and Melo and finally on the Lakers with Pau, Dwight and now Kobe.

He said D'Antoni hasn't got the slightest idea about what he's doing with the Lakers and then Skip said he doesn't see a system or anything because he forced Steve Nash into the starting line up and have him take 5 shots immediately in a playoff game after a prolonged injury. Nash himself even admitted after the game it was tough for him to be out there.

Skip said it was ridiculous to force Nash into that position when it was Steve Blake who has been on fire and led the charge on the win streak that helped them get to the playoffs. He said by the time Blake finally got to shoot the ball, it was too late because "Ginobili happened."

He also thought it was ridiculous that Pau and Dwight were literally taking jumpers in the first quarter.

tl;dr They want him out of the league because he's stubborn and a bad coach and think that Jim Buss is going to have to admit he made a mistake sooner rather than later if they ever want to be good again.

Yeah, it was one of the rare segments Stephen A was wronger and more annoying than Bayless. Dude was grandstanding so hard it was embarrassing.

I did not get stephen a's rant one bit

why the hell was he so mad about D'Antoni calling kobe a fan? It seemed like a throwaway comment in a press conference to me. I mean seriously

It's First Take on ESPN. That should explain it. Trash tier show trying to make stories out of nothing

Imagine how good that team could have been with Thibs running the defense.

I do agree with the way he worded his comments that he was definitely grandstanding but I must admit I do agree with what he said. It was a little disrespectful for him to just call Kobe a fan after everything that happened.

Every team I've ever seen pringles coach has been a dysfunctional bunch of stars in what appears to be a bad system.

Honest question, why do organizations keep buying into this guy?
