That was the case with Terraria before release, same thing for Stardew Valley, set for release on Desura and Steam if greenlighted. |
| Well, if there's no "company", it can't be considered a commercial release. And if it's not a commercial release, the only way for it to become part of the database is if it's exceptionally notable.
If a game is just floating somewhere out on the web as a non-commercial release and otherwise doesn't have that notability, then it makes sense it won't be accepted. A Steam release is a commercial release, and thus there would be a studio associated with it. So the issue is really Steam, not GameFAQs. When the time comes that it launches on Steam/Desura, problem solved. Without that or wild popularity however, it doesn't belong in the database. |
