Considering they've already had sponge porn on the show, I doubt that would work.

The only thing that would ACTUALLY get the show to cancel is something that is hugely controversial and can be noticed by even a kid.

They got rid of Erin Esurance because all the top Google results were rule34.

I did notice she doesn't appear in commercials anymore.

No, they got rid of her because she just wasn't popular. Believe it or not, surveys indicated that Clippy had higher appeal than she did.

And Progressive still uses Flo as their "mascot", likely because live-action is cheaper than animating.

If that were an option, My Little Pony would've been eradicated long ago.

Regardless, I think the best way to take it off the air is to cure children's addiction to terrible cartoons. Spongebob has been terrible for a long time now with no end in sight, it still gets specials and everything.

The only real way is for it to get low ratings, and that's laughable. Like, super laughable.

The biggest problem with the yellow freak isn't that the show has degraded, its the fact that they worship SpongeBob as a god! It's pretty much the only show (aside from their horribly unfunny live action series) they even bother to advertise, they put all their good shows on unreasonable timeslots in the weekend death slots or the hours when most kids are asleep. Think about it: they almost never re-air Korra or TMNT, They canned Penguins of Madagascar with the final 7 episodes unaired in the US, and they'll probably NEVER be aired here, for some reason Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness has disappeared from their schedule completely, AGAIN with 7 episodes left to air in the season!

I have a bad feeling they're going to deliberately delay some new episodes of their good shows for WEEKS on end, not even advertise them anymore and then cancel them with no word until the sponge and their live action is all that's left. My real question is: is there a way to get NICKELODEON TAKEN OFF THE AIRWAVES? Maybe get their good cartoons picked up by, say Cartoon Network or (god forbid) Disney XD? It's my logical understanding those networks are fairing far better in the ratings, and I don't even look at or pay attention to that stuff.

Currently, Nick is somehow still #1 in the ratings, occasionally trading places with Disney Channel as runner-up, leaving Cartoo Network as #3 and dead last.

I await the day where CN suddenly brings in a "Stone Cold Steve Austin" tier show, kicks off an "Attitude Era" in respect to their channel, and Nick's ratings suddenly plunge before eventually getting WCW'd.

Enh... depends on how you evaluate it. From my understanding, Nickelodeon is #1 in 2-11, but Disney beats them in 6-11 and 9-14.

In that case, CN beats them there to from what I see but what doesn't make sense is how Nick is still beating them overall in supposedly just one demographic.
