Does anyone else feel that Marvel is slowly trying to have the Ultimate universes overtake the main one? With Fury now being replaced it just seems like they are slowly trying to over take the main one, damn Bendis. I like Ultimate Nick too (and actually prefer the Ultimate versions of Cap and Thor), but I'd hate to see the original Nick Fury fade into the background in favor of catering to the movie fans. Again, the character has such an awesome history.

I don't recall people being irritated by white Ra's Al Ghul and white Bane. Oh, right. That wasn't the dreaded 'Affirmative Action'.
If you're talking about Liam Neeson and Tom Hardy and not some actual race change in the comic books that I don't know about then...there's your answer. They weren't changed in the comic books to reflect their appearance in the movie. Just like how Joker doesn't look like Ledger and Batman isn't black and armored like Bale.
I don't mind a different interpretation, Black Fury is cool in the Ultimate Universe. But when they start making him take over both universes and replace a character with such rich and interesting story, that's when I get annoyed. |
