The Joker has never raped anyone, right? *Spoilers for various books?*

I hear people say that Joker raped Barbara in the Killing Joke, but even though she was naked, I didn't find that to be a strong enough implication that he sexually assaulted her. What do you guys think?

No, he didn't rape Barbara. He didn't give two craps about her. It was all about James. He wanted to drive James insane. Barbara was therefore just a means to that end.

No, I think that for him, it's more satisfying that he took the pictures and showed them to her father.

I've heard a rumor that in The Dark Knight Returns, he raped Jason Todd before killing him, but it might be just a rumor.

Here's a great essay on that subject.

Dur, forgot about that. I like that book but I try to ignore that bit.

Also, considering the more effeminate take on the Joker in TDKR, I don't think that he did anything to Selina, besides tie her up.

This is an Elseworlds that includes a drastically different interpretation of the character.

The real Joker would never rape anyone and any situation in which he is implied to have done so is just awful writing. Sexual violence is caused by compensating for feelings of inadequacy and the desire for power and dominance over a another person. This is the complete opposite of the kind of insanity that Joker displays.

I'm gonna call bull**** here.

"He would gladly murder men, women, and children in the most horrifying ways possible, rack up a kill count in the thousands, and constantly change his personality, but rape? No! Never!"

It'll never happen in a mainstream book, but that doesn't mean the CHARACTER wouldn't do it.

By your logic, every murderer is a rapist. I mean if someone would gladly murder someone, they surely must be willing to gladly rape someone too. At least according to you...
