Is Jim Lee's Superman: For Tomorrow the best Superman artwork?

#1FindKenshiPosted 11/18/2012 2:07:53 PM
I know the story was not well liked by a lot of people, but as for the artwork, is this some of the best Superman stuff out there?

Do you think Jim Lee's Superman in For Tomorrow looks "cool"?

Jim Lee's artwork is, at best, acceptable.

I think Curt Swan is widely accepted as having done the definitive Superman.

I know his style is a bit polarizing but for me it's Ed McGuiness/Dexter Vines.

Swan is probably the definitive Silver Age Superman artist, but I would say Byrne is the definitive modern age Superman artist.

Jim Lee wouldn't even make the top ten best Superman artists.

This is a joke and I'm not really even a Lee fan.

Maybe, but Curt Swan's art is pretty timeless. It's clean and iconic.

Just out of personal preference I'm a big fan of Frank Quitely's Superman. I'd probably say he's the best to do it, but he wouldn't have been able to bring his Superman to life without Curt Swan to draw inspiration from,

Byrne stands out more in my mind for Lex Luthor and Wolverine than Superman himself.

I'd say the Paul Dini design for the DCAU probably stands out more than Byrne's for the modern age.
