It's funny you say that because I remember people saying the director's cut added like a five minute flashback of no particular importance and thats about it

The DVD we got was not the director's cut. The director's cut had an extra 32 minutes, which we'll probably never see aside from the leaked shots in the trailers. Most of it was the scene of Sinestro, Salaak, and Kilowog helping Jordan fight Parallax, instead of what we got where it was Jordan asking for help, SInestro agreeing, then it's all Jordan until the end when he's saved by Sinestro.

I remember one of the scenes was Kilowog throwing up a shield blocking the Earth from Parallax throwing an asteroid at Earth, while Salaak, Sinestro, and Jordan where flying around it firing beams. Felt totally gyped when I saw the scene removed :'(

There certainly was a lot of room for improvement there. I was a little underwhelmed by the constructs made; they seemed a tad bit juvenile.

In a movie with Van Wilder? Color me shocked.

I don't see the problem with this film. It wasn't outstanding, but it put all the pieces in play that are needed for a sequel. Is it really necessary to wipe that and then do it a second time?

I hope they don't do a reboot. I haven't watched GL yet, but it sounds more mediocre than horrible, so just get it together for the sequel and call it a day. Reboots are lame unless they're necessary (Man of Steel, Nolan's Batman, Captain America and Hulk)

I liked it. I thought it was enjoyable but not amazing. The director's cut is the way to go.

A Blackest Night movie COULD be done after the JL universe has been established.

Sadly I think the Hollywood critics ruined our chances of a proper sequel or even a film with other DC characters.

It NEEDS to be rebooted.

SPOILERS

Krona and Parallax are two awesome villains that when combined sucked. Ryan Reynolds needs to be recast. And the first movie shouldn't go with the OMG WORLD ENDING THREAT!!!! Focus on a smaller villain, focus on Jordan as a character, the split between Sinestro and the Corps, and building the mythos of the Green Lanterns.

Green Lantern could be DCs Star Wars with multiple heroes, many films, and deep storylines. It could be more successful than Batman and Superman. But they need a better movie than the crap they produced last time.

The directer's cut sounded like it has more substance.

It doesn't. All they added was the full sequence of how Hal's dad died at the beginning.

All they had to do was adapt Secret Origin.
