Question on GBA fighters

Has anyone here tried playing games like SSF2 Turbo Revival that were designed for the GBA button scheme with one of Nintendo's classic controllers (the SNES-style ones compatible with both the Wii and Gamecube) on their Game Boy Player? Just wondering if the controls are all weird because they were supposed to involve the GBA's shoulder buttons originally, and other such things.
