Shin ATproofPosted 4/27/2012 3:34:00 PM | Game looks gorgeous and the fighting seems to be very fast and entertaining, it's just too bad you'll likely still be able to counter from hitstun. --- Fact: Every Anime and Video game with Norio Wakamoto and/or JAM Project is awesome. bIuerainPosted 4/27/2012 8:21:48 PM (edited) | -There was always something weird about the way DOA moves animate. Like the way their limbs move as they strike, always seemed unnaturally stiff. Especially noticeable with the women, since they're skinny and have less clothes to disguise it. I was hoping they'd figure that out by DOA5. I'm going to have to compare it to Tekken and Soul Calibur because they're the only ones off the top of my head that have awesome animations.
IIRC DOA has significantly faster moves than those games, (10 frames at the fastest in Namco games) maybe that causes the weird animation effect? Or it could just be only Namco has the 3D fighter studios with the budget to hire professional dancers for their mo-cap and great animation editors.
-Man did the anti-grav boobs need to stay? They could find plenty of reasons for them to bounce, with all the somersaults and stuff the women do, without giving them jello implants. FFS Christie's wearing a bra and her rack still... I don't even want to say bounce, it's more like they're floating in the air while she just stands there.
-I'm glad they got rid of the uncanny valley Barbie/Ken doll look. It doesn't even look like DOA anymore, which is good. I wouldn't have ever guessed that was Bayman in the video. IDK if there's any other fighter that has people that look this realistic in it, even a step above Tekken. It looks great. There are still compromises, like some characters having the perfectly straight pointy-anime-chins, but they managed to pull it off and the characters look great.
The dirt stains and sweating are really neat. I just hope they don't overdo it like in MK9; your character would do a cool winpose, except he's so disfigured and covered in blood by then that it's not cool and stylish anymore. I can see that happening with the dirt-effects in this game, ruining your character's triumph by covering him in mud. --- Funky Strong "Date vuelta. SSBR10Posted 5/4/2012 11:04:04 AM | I can't wait to see more of the VF characters in this.
Of course, I also can't to see how the other characters look this time around. I'm impressed by what I've seen so far. --- Little Mac, Mega Man, Travis Touchdown for Super Smash Bros. 4. Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat, Shonen Jump vs. Capcom please. |
