Way too early to say, but knowing Peter Jackson, I would say it is very probable. But I remember him saying that ideally The Hobbit wouldn't need extended editions, since The Hobbit is being split into two movies. That allows them to keep more of the original story, as well as add in the White Council/Dol Guldur plotline.
