Strife2Posted 11/23/2012 1:25:15 PM | ve decided to venture through the Final Fantasy series again. I'd originally done this a few years ago with I-X-2. With other games released, I figure I should give it another shot. The difference being I have a 30-hour job and Gamefly. The biggest threat to my completion is a series of handicaps I'm placing upon myself for many of the games. XIII and XIII-2 skate by as regular playthroughs, since I didn't finish or play them yet. Here's what I have against me for now. I do not have a PSP or Wii, so After Years/Complete Collection is also absent.
Objective Complete Every Main Offline Game Within One Year Spin-Offs/Secret Bosses Optional
Final Fantasy I PSX Normal Version Randomly Class Challenge (classes can overlap)

Final Fantasy XIII Standard Playthrough

BeknessPosted 11/23/2012 2:07:44 PM | I've finished a bunch of games lately, definitely doable. I'm doing something similar right now, I am playing ff2. I generally play a few games at once. If something hooks me in really badly, I will play it like crazy.. Late nights, 30+ hours on a weekend, waking at 4am, etc. Good luck. You should post updates. --- BekkiBear. Bears fo' life, yo. |
DariusTripletPosted 11/23/2012 2:09:47 PM | For a random party, that's very good. I was wondering if you'd end up with something like Th/Th/BM/WM or something. --- Official GameFAQs Gunther Hermann Fanboy "No. I wanted orange. It gave me lemon-lime" |
AmenonuhokoPosted 11/23/2012 2:13:16 PM(edited) | For FF1 try my pimp setup:
1 Red Mage with his three White Mage ho's(If that's too daunting put in a Thief or a BB as a John)
Also, what method did you use for yoyr random setup? --- Winners don't lose drugs. CO, WA...We'll kill marijuana prohibition one state at a time if we must. |
Strife2(Topic Creator)Posted 11/23/2012 2:49:07 PM | I picked them from a hat. I was relieved when I got a white mage. I don't know what reds do, but I've heard they kick ass. I made a typo; 14 games, not 15. --- Random Encounters Suck |
BeknessPosted 11/23/2012 2:52:02 PM | I can't even remember what I picked for ff1. I played the psp version. --- BekkiBear. Bears fo' life, yo. |
AmenonuhokoPosted 11/23/2012 3:09:42 PM(edited) | Another question. how are you going to handle the random class picks in the games that stagger your class choices, like III, V?
Re-pick from a full list after each new group? Roll dice to see how many characters stay the same then randomly choose from the new ones?. Flip a coin on each party member then pick from a hat? --- Winners don't lose drugs. CO, WA...We'll kill marijuana prohibition one state at a time if we must. |
RygonPosted 11/23/2012 3:16:59 PM | FF3 classes aren't as balanced as the others. I don't think you will finish the game if you use random classes. --- http://backloggery.com/war_lion108 |
Strife2(Topic Creator)Posted 11/23/2012 3:44:44 PM | The last time I tried FFV, I started the game by picking from the final pool of classes. If a character gets a class that's from a later selection, they will be given a class from the early draws (by random) until their initial pick becomes available. For instance, if Bartz gets Samurai, he will be given a random initial class until it becomes available. It would go, "White Mage -> Samurai." That is unless he masters White Mage before then. I'll just pray I don't get a White Mage -> Berserker setup. Actually, any Berserker pick would mark me for death I think. --- Random Encounters Suck |
