Pretty cool. Nice to see an interviewer actually say they didn't like the ending, despite him being a little confused.

I'm not sure how credibly I can take this interview considering the interviewer didn't get the ending in the first place... "I don't like it, but I didn't actually understand it."...

I would love to hang out with Damon for a day and just chat about Lost. It would be fascinating.

Also, I respect the hell out of Damon for standing so strongly and passionately by his project, and doing it in a very intelligent manner.

It was interesting to see the interviewer come right out and tell Damon to his face that he didn't like the ending, something most people don't have the balls to do. However that man just did all of us who didn't like the last season a huge disservice by not even really understanding the ending. Damon has said before that he finds many of the people who didn't like the ending were either angry they didn't get more answers (something he warned about) or they just didn't get it. Now he can walk away from that interview with his head held high, knowing that man had no idea what he was talking about. He doesn't realize it, but that interviewer has just helped Damon validate himself yet again.

I would love for someone who fully understood the ending and had real critiques of it to have a real discussion with Damon because I want to know what his actual answers are. Despite not liking the last season, I still have a good deal of respect for Damon and he made some good points here.

I always see interviewers talk about how it was too confusing, or that it didn't happen, which really weren't problems at all.

The main problem I had, that I don't think I've ever seen an interviewer ask about, is why when one of the main themes of the show is Science vs Faith, they just took the complete Faith route at the end. I mean I wouldn't want a complete Science route either, but it'd be nice to see a balance.

^ That would be awesome. Not only is Lost my favorite show of all-time, but I love just listening to Damon talk about the show and tv in general in interviews. He really has a unique perspective on things, and that's one of the reasons Lost was so good, IMO. He's not afraid to take risks and break "the rules" (no pun intended) of television.

I haven't watched the interview yet (thanks for the link, btw) but there a good amount of people who just didn't like the ending because they didn't get it (they think they were "dead the whole time"), or because they didn't keep up with the show since season 1 or 2 and then tuned in to the series finale and expected one big answer to explain everything (some people actually complain about not getting an answer about the polar bears....REALLY?! Or they wanted one big answer as to what the island was, when there were actually many smaller answers throughout the series that explain it). There are people who just didn't like the finale (or the last season in general) for valid reasons, of course, but it's just something I've noticed from reading comments online. Then there are people who are still hung up on mysteries presented in season 1 like Walt and are mad that they never got an answer to that (I haven't watched New Man In Charge yet, no spoilers please!!)...which in a way is reasonable to be upset about but I also think it's short-sighted (there were a lot of more important mysteries that were resolved).

Can't wait to watch the interview.
