You should watch The Tudors.

It has a similar set-up of political intrigue where everyone has their own agenda and you don't know who's right and who's wrong.

I always considered GoT to be like Rome in a fantasy land with a little more swordfighting, so I recommend that as well.

Also someone recommended Battlestar Galactica. I never really thought about recommendin that as a series similar to GoT but it kinda is. You should watch it.
