Can I just choose Not-Allen?
No?
Then Hitchcock.

If you can do it, do it well. If you can't, fake it. Odds are you'll learn before anybody notices.

Of my 5 favorite directors. 2-5 are all on there, and they are all pretty much ties (PTA, Kubrick, Scorsese and Kurosawa). Just missing my number one (Tarkovsky)

Voted for PTA though

"Best" and "like most" are not synonymous.

Has to he PTA, though Kubrick, Scorsese, Kurosawa, and the Coen Bros. all have a legitimate claim. Still, I think all of Anderson's films are amazing, so he takes it for me.

PTA is my favorite from the list, but Kubrick or Hitchcock are probably the "best". If PTA had more movies I might be more inclined to say he was the best.
