Hmm...since you can't legally conceal carry in California, this basically bans any carrying of guns outside your house. I think this is a response to the way a lot of douchey gun activists have been walking around with guns on their hips for no particular reason other than to be obnoxious and provocative.

I actually would not be opposed to conceal carry if it was only legal with a permit that required very strict training so people weren't putting one another in danger by carrying around a pistol in their backpack with the safety off. As for open carry, I don't trust random people at all, especially if they're sitting around in Starbucks with a revolver on their hip acting like a jackass.

Well, unfortunately for you you didn't right the U.S. Constitution.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

How is this not an infringement? This is a state government operated ultra vires of its powers.

The federal nature of the United States is the worst thing about it. It should be a unitary state. Same goes for...basically any federation - Australia, Canada would be nice but not possible due to Quebecois...

2nd amendment trumps the 10th.

You should just let Quebec be independent. They'd be begging you to let them come back within a decade.

Federalism & division of powers didn't start with the 10th amendment.

Meh. I hate the ZOMG DEY TAKIN UR GUNS mentality, but if concealed carry is banned, then open carry cannot be banned.
