Georgia unconstitutionally executing inmate?

My take: If Joseph Handspike was convicted for murder, then what's the big deal? He killed 1 innocent person and another rather guilty person. It was 22yrs ago. There's enough evidence of him being mentally ill. Let him live off the Georgia Government and get better health care than our troops and veterans. Governor Deal, grant clemency.

BUT then again, I'm not a Georgian. So as the HodgeTwins would say, this is just advice. It's your state. You can do whatever the....[bleep].....!

Your take?

My take? Death penalty is wrong no matter if the man is mentally challenged or not.

Joseph Handspike was not the man being executed today. I was referring to Lauren H... Warren Lee Hill. My bad.

Hell, I'd say it's more just if he's mentally incompetent. Unlike someone of high intellectual functioning, who might have some big Lady MacBeth-style breakdown and be full of regret, this sucker is probably just twiddling his thumbs in prison.

A dog isn't "mentally capable" of understanding the gravity of murder, but if it bites somebody, it still gets gassed. And this guy isn't even furry and cute like a dog.

I say pump him full of lead, or needles, or whatever gets the job done.

there is nothing morally wrong with killing guilty people, but it is too expensive and the very fact that innocent people are killed makes it wrong. 100 guilty people staying alive for the life of one innocent is worth it.

It's not an either-or scenario. You can use the death penalty judiciously. You know, for like when people murder their cellmates. Two men go into a cell, and one gets strangled or shanked, you can be pretty sure who your culprit is.
