Did you guys catch Jim Carrey's anti-gun song?

Basically he rants about guns as librul hypocrits usually do.

It really backfired because Hollywood portrays violence all the time.

Also:

1. Jim has a role in the upcomiing 'Kick Ass 2' in which he actually uses a gun as a violent criminal.

2. He claims to want more use of non-lethal weapons for self defense while he himself just hires bodyguards. Maybe he should do that for everyone else.

3. Only mentions the gun deaths in America while ignoring the amount of stopped crimes with guns which outnumber the deaths by more than 10:1

tl:dr = Just another washed-up libtroll celeb trying trying to cash in on the latest tragedies.

We all know there is no such thing, since that isn't a quantifiable claim.

On the basis of National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) data, one would conclude that defensive uses are rare indeed, about 108,000 per year.

but then it goes on to say that defensive gun users were around 1.5 million

If the DGU numbers are in the right ballpark, millions of attempted assaults, thefts, and break-ins were foiled by armed citizens during the 12-month period. According to these results, guns are used far more often to defend against crime than to perpetrate crime.

this is a study from the Clinton administration.

Yeah, that terrible sample size (45) being extrapolated to 2.5 million. Sounds legit. Not.

Sample: Probability sample of 2,568 noninstitutionalized adults aged 18 and over who are fluent in English or Spanish and live in households with a telephone

and from what I can tell the Kleck & Gertz study that had the 2.5 million figure had a sample size of almost 5,000 people.

^ Can't read. They extrapolated "how much do people use guns in defense" from 45 people in that sample who said "yes, I've used a gun in defense before" and who were then asked to estimate how many times they had done so, including one woman who said 58 times (as ****ing if!).

well the sample size of the study is still 2,568 and 4,977 for the NSPOF and Kleck & Gertz respectively.
this is just how studies like this are done, and they're usually pretty accurate. or else we wouldn't continue to do them this way.
