The only important discussion is going to be about the 14th and 10th amendments. It doesn't actually matter what the SCOTUS thinks about gay marriage on a moral level, at all.

SCOTUS justices are just legislators in robes, they hear arguments irrelevant to the constitution and take them into consideration all the time.

Well, it's supposed to be June, but the court could decide to kick it back to the state, which would strike down marriage inequality.

nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

This is the only argument I can really see that might involve the Supreme Court.

And, frankly, it's a powerful one.

Honestly, this does seem to indicate to me that same-sex marriage may in fact be constitutionally protected.
