Many clamour for high profile cases like this, even if it is defending the wrong side.

I think they clamour for ones like OJ Simpson.

But someone like the Boston bomber or James Holmes can't be all too great. It's a lost cause.

A. Innocent until proven guilty.

B. The defense can always go the James Holmes route and make an insanity plea (although the prosecution may also go the Holmes route and refuse to stand for such shenanigans).

Pre-meditated crimes like this and fleeing from the scene of the crime disqualifies him from standing behind an insanity defense.
